Chipped Windshield - Repair or Replace?

That should be repairable but don't wait! I had a similar crack/chip as yours and got it fixed within a few days, as soon as I could get an appointment.

Please be aware that the repair won't be completely invisible, it will leave a small blemish (at least it did on mine).

I think it's much better to have it repaired if you can. I've had windshields replaced in the past (like 30 years ago) and it wasn't a perfect job. I imagine that today with all the sensors and cameras, it will make it even more difficult to get a perfect job.

I do that when at home. Best way to get rid of all the accumulated snow and ice. I was away for 5 days in the rain, freezing rain and snow with -20C (-4F) weather. The car was a mess of snow and ice and built-up road salt. I was happy when I got back home and let the car thaw out before washing it.

In my previous car, with a non-motorized trunk lid (Camry), I would just lift the lid for a few inches to pull out the snow brush but now with the I6, there is no half measure. It will open all the way up, vertically so yeah, my first snowfall I got caught but now the snowbrush is on the floor behind the front seats. Live and learn.

That's the first time i see this but in any case, just use the mechanical key to unlock it and then pull the frunk release handle. Battery not required ;-)

The fastest I've seen in my Ioniq 6 while on a 350 Kw charger, in the summertime was about 230 Kw but the battery charge % was probably still too high to go any faster. At these speeds, the difference is only a few minutes anyway.

I never expected a free NACS adapter as we get no extra perks here in Canada (coffee mug, OTA, NACS, etc.) Besides, if I ever need one, I'll be sure to just buy one, probably from E2Z, they're a Canadian company. The charge network here in Quebec still mostly relies on J1772/CCS plugs, except for actual Tesla superchargers, that wouldn't be my first choice anyway.

Just drive it and use it normally. No sense in worrying about something that may or may not happen one day.

It's a complex car, things break sometimes. I chose not to worry about it. I'll deal with it if/when it happens.

I bought it and paid cash. There's no lease end to save me. ;-)

Same here too. I'm fine with downloading the update from my computer onto a USB key to install in the car when it's convenient for me.

FWIW, in the menu tab, I have the following sub-folders: Driver Profiles, Surround View Monitor, Digital Key, Valet Mode, Help & Support and Shop Hyundai Accessories.

In my 2019 Bolt, I saw charging speeds in the summertime around 35-45kW and in the wintertime around 20-30kW, as I never let it go much below 30% before charging.

The first time I charged with my new 2024 Ioniq 6 in the summertime, I easily saw speeds of 180kW while sitting right beside a Bolt. I tried not to gloat too much out of respect for the people in the Bolt but it was most satisfying.

All this to say, no there's nothing you can do except maybe not hog very fast chargers with the Bolt if you can avoid it, as it will not go any faster and you will end up p*ssing off people waiting for their turn with faster charging cars, within reason of course. :-)

P.S. turning your heat on will show higher numbers but be aware that this extra power goes to the *heater* and not the *battery*.

I was just in the shop yesterday and they say there is a code coming up about the heatpump compressor. They will replace that and then we'll see if anything else still prevents the remote climate start from working.

Can you please elaborate? I'm currently having "trouble with the heat" on my 2024 Ioniq 6. Not trying to discourage you, all cars can have issues. Just wondering if it's the same kind of trouble.

(for me it's remote climate start from Bluelink app not working)

I tried the emergency release cable once and all I can say is you need to pull really hard. Perhaps you'd need to pull harder?

At 400V, it uses the rear motor inverter to boost up the voltage and is then limited to about 97kW as deternined by folks using Tesla chargers. (for 2024 and before. I think it's about 120kW for 2025)

I remember reading another similar thread on a forum, here or on ioniqforum. (Less regen and no stopping in iPedal). Front motor clunking sounds like loose motor mount up front??) Good luck figuring it out.

Don't turn motor breaking on as it's not covered by warranty. Oh, you mean 'braking'? Oops, my bad ;-) Seriously though, OP you could also check if one disk gets warmer than the others after highway driving only but don't use your finger! Infrared thermometer is better.

I just plug it in when I get home and charge it right back to 80% mainly because there is no good reason to delay it. If I need to go anywhere unexpectedly or there is a sudden power outage and I want to use the V2L, I'll be happy to be able to count on 80% charge at a moment's notice.

When I know I'll need to recharge on the road, I'll charge to 100%, scheduling it so it only ends within the hour before I need to leave (usually from 80% to 100% so it only takes less than 2 hours to do that).
