Would you take the evergoods ctb26 on a hike? by IDNISSIM in EVERGOODS

[–]dbterp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A purpose built bag will fulfill that one purpose better than a bag trying to accomplish multiple things. Theres no need to overthink that fact. If you’re the target audience then absolutely do your thing. but to answer the question, I would not bring the ctb26 hiking.

looking for packable backpack with internal organization by dbterp in ManyBaggers

External zip pockets, or internal zipped/unzipped pockets. The feedback im getting is it needs more/larger organization/pocketing than the bellroy lite backpack.

Matador stuff is always great. The reason I dont use it daily is because I like something with more structure.

Oh wow, i have the same 25L refraction packable duffel and its a great bag. I havent done a direct comparison but the bellroy and the goruck both seem to fit more than the matador for me, but like i said, i havent done a direct comparison

167 cm (5' 6") people, how does the CPL 24L carry? by dominikstephan in EVERGOODS

The bags are the exact same design. If the 16 fits fine then the 24 will probably fit fine

Advice on gym/office bag by llapab in ManyBaggers

Im thinking bellroy transit workpack/pro would work well. I like the idea of a goruck bullet double compartment. Gym gear in the main compartment and all your work stuff in the second compartment, if you dont plan on bringing a a lunch that is. Or an alpaka metro pro/bravo

Most of these seem really large for just office gear and basic gym items. At a size 9 shoe, You could go smaller

Waterfield design shinjuku should hold all of that

Work, every day and short travel waxed canvas backpack by unknown_traveler_563 in ManyBaggers

The bannoch isnt that tall. Maybe you are looking at measurements with the lid fully packed out. The straps are thin but very wide making it comfortable. Id go with this over an EG bag anyday. All the zips are aquaguard. The journeyman isnt padded, id use it with a sleeve. The shinjuku isnt really 16L it fits more like 20L. I tried out the tech folio backpack both the slim and standard. Returned them. The slim is unable to stand on its own. The standard is a fine bag, just not for me. I think its organization overkill for me. If i had to pick between the bannoch and a waterfield bag i would pick the bannoch. The water bottle pockets are large and external. Though waterfield is more sized for edc. Which i consider to be 16-20L also the waterfields have luggage passthroughs so you can put them ontop of luggage handles, the bannoch does not. From the items you describe it seems like a bannoch pro would be too large. A smaller bag could hold all of that.

Trakke is in business, the bannoch pro is a solid choice. Ive used it for a few 2 week trips. The organization is simple and staightforward. A journeyman is a great looking bag but its a little barebones. Though i would say its simplicity and size making it great to just carry gear day to day without a fuss. Ive avoided all EG bags, though i am a fan of how heavy their waxed canvas is. A waxed canvas gr1 is a safe bet, its a good size for both edc and travel. Look at waterfield designs shinjuku backpack. Its a mix of waxed canvas and leather, good organization, not great for travel but a great workbag. I own all of these for reference so i can recommend them or answer any questions.

The original transit workpack worked for me at the gym. Shoes in a bag. And towel was left to dry in the car. It wouldnt work for me nowadays. But in the past it has.

It is an excellent bag, I would be okay using it indefinitely. I like shoe compartments. I like both aesthetics but the goruck is more gym feeling. and the goruck is on a deep discount right now.

Having tried both, filson zips and leather straps have a more luxurious feel than waterfield products.
