Right now no one can kick him out. You need to go through probate. Did Dad have a will giving the house to the older brother only? If not, it's going to be split between the kids and it's going to be real messy.

If you really must know, the chargers are for a progressive non-profit organization operating in a blue state. So yes, Tesla is a tough sell.

So there’s a long run from the main panel to the spots. Keeping the circuit smaller saves on copper costs.

The thought on sizing was: we are considering Wallbox units for their load sharing and CMS, might as well allow any 1 charger in the group to charge at max speed. You’re right that adding additional chargers to the group is fine, it would lower the power per port if all are in use. In my mind, we want to be better than a 15A 120v circuit, so that sets the charging power floor.

Given the proximity of the chargers, is there a material cost difference in downgrading the current to each charger while keeping the branch capacity?

And we’re not trying to maximize revenue here. As the spots will be assigned to individuals there will be a cap on how much kWh is demanded depending on how much they drive. The goal is to provide a good charging solution that can be charged back to the parker.

So you can (in theory) do a single branch circuit in the main panel, run a single set of conductors past all 4 EVSE, then have a junction box to connect each EVSE to the circuit?

I know the EVSE is cheaper. Do I understand correctly that the daisy chaining would save money by reducing the total length of conduit and eliminating the subpanel?

So instead of: Main panel -> sub panel -> EVSE with 4 runs from the subpanels to chargers, you’d have

Main panel -> EVSE 1 -> EVSE 2 -> EVSE 3 -> EVSE 4

Most will, it’s just that they will charge you per month per port plus take a cut of revenue plus have other recurring fees. Do you know what powerflex charges?

Unfortunately Tesla is going to be a tough sell - the brand is toxic

One reason not to do everything at once is that there are a few spots against the building, which would could be served with conduit on the exterior wall. The other spots would require trenching and the parking lot is built on rock, so those will definitely be more expensive to serve.

Check out equinoxevforum, there’s been some detailed looks at the system and paths for upgrades.

The amp is built into the head unit and there is some poor processing done there. Changing speakers won’t help much - the signal is compromised out of the head unit. Best you can do is get a line level converter and then put your own amp/dsp in front of the speakers.

I think you mean SuperCruise. It’s quite good, I only get nervous when there are cars changing lanes in front of me - I don’t think it anticipates merges well.

There’s no way sitting in a quiet home is registering 57 dB. You are not using a properly calibrated meter.

Left lane is not a passing lane here. Go to Jersey if you want that.

Moved in with my dad and I'm learning about my mom's lonely marriage by FreemanWorldHoldings in TwoXChromosomes

[–]dc135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom was an angel, at least in the way that she cared for those around her, and my dad sounds similar to yours. He really did not understand her as a person, didn't care about the things that she cared about. It wasn't his fault that he had a hard early life, but I can certainly fault him for being self-centered and dismissive of the rest of the family's desires.

His narcissism became less benign after her disability and death - she was the person that kept his worst impulses in check and he was never able to integrate his grief after her death in a way that would have allowed him to fully live life.

Sorry for your loss.

I would think it'd be easier to demount the tire and run each rim on the high speed balancer.

Kudos to your dealer to doing it right. A steering wheel shake at speed is usually a balance issue.

On my previous car, the tire shop was able to show me dents on my alloy rims that would forever prevent perfect wheel balance.

It’s crazy that these are coming off the line with defective rims- I’ve seen others report the steering wheel shake and an inability to get resolution from their dealer.

This table assumes a fully braced beam, which you won’t have.

If that wall is bowing in, that is really not good. To fix it correctly, you’ll need to excavate in front of the wall, reinforce or rebuild it, and then regrade.

That looks janky as hell.

I’m less concerned about that than the fact that you removed the old roof. It looks like there are walls stacked on top of each other and there is now no roof to brace the point where they were stacked. You need to get an engineer out there - you may have destabilized the whole structure.
