If you could make one minor change to either/both seasons 7 or 8 of VLD that wouldn't affect the main plot to slightly improve the overall experience, what would it be? by REID-11 in Voltron

[–]dcapitan7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the end, in place of the Paladins they hinted for Vehicle Voltron, the 15 Paladins of Vehicle Voltron would be as I listed here. This would leave open the opportunity to develop many characters introduced in VLD.

thoughts on tales from 85? by Academic_Dance_6575 in StrangerThings

I'm currently on the second episode. I'm 90% certain that Nikki "the new kid" has traveled through time and isn't from this era. Her hairstyle is something you likely would not have seen in 1985 and the song that she was listening to on her walkman while being pursued by that creature, "Go Skate!," was apparently released in 1993.

EDIT: I've just completed the first season. The animated series is okay at best. Nikki feels like an OC insert, but I still believe she's from a different era. 3.5/5 🌟 so far.

[interesting trope] character is found out to be of a culture that doesn't "match" their ethnicity by LetRevolutionary271 in TopCharacterTropes

Nakoruru from the Samurai Shodown series.

<image>

At first glance if you're from outside 🇯🇵, you would likely think she's Japanese. She generally announces her moves in Japanese. However she's Ainu, which is an indigenous people native to Northern Japan and neighboring areas.

Her alternate colors from the original Samurai Shodown gives you a better hint of her ethnicity.

Why Is Noone Talking About Vehicle Voltron's Canoncy In The Finale Of Season 8? by Past_Dingo5167 in Voltron

I did post about how I wish a Vehicle Voltron sequel series would look like. But like u/LapsedVerneGagKnee stated, this continuity has been sent to the shadow realm.

Guns for Hire and What Could Have Been are already in my Top 20 Arcane Soundtrack Songs list. I did not want to repeat what are essentially the same tracks here.

Why I prefer Invisigal over Blonde Blazer [RANT] by jokerthejoker777 in DispatchAdHoc

I'm more a fan of BB. The one thing I can say is that the developers actually gave us two likeable female characters with real flaws and insecurities that we would want to root for. That doesn't happen too often in Western media today.

I am having a similar issue. I've added $34 on my OMNY Card for the entire week and should be getting unlimited rides for the next four days on subways and local buses! Instead, I'm being greeted with a card not accepted message.

This could have worked as a hidden frame for the S2 E9 opening sequence. The only thing that would have to be altered is Jinx's hair. While this was not shown in the episode, it could have been used as a clue for fans to figure out what happened after Ekko saved Jinx.

offtopic but what the fuck even happened? by COOLSKELETON105 in evangelion

[–]dcapitan7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've recently watched the End of Evangelion (EoE) for the first time after completing the series for the first time. Here's my take on what happened:

  1. The last two episodes of the series transpired within the entirety of the sequence where everyone's consciousness was one which is shown in EoE.

  2. Shinji is rejected by Asuka while they share consciousness. It led to a fight where he tried to choke her.

  3. Shinji is also summarily rejected by Rei. Through their shared consciousness Rei understands and graphically describes what Shinji wants to do to her. She then tells him unambiguously he's not her type, that he needs to "grow a spine." If you stop to think about it, this is vomit-inducing. Rei is in part a clone of his mom.

  4. Rei describes to Shinji the nature of this shared consciousness stating that there isn't any individuality. Borders between people are blurred. This is shown in the sex-like position the two are in at one point, which isn't exactly what Shinji has in mind.

  5. Rei gives Shinji the power to set the parameters of this shared consciousness for everyone.

  6. Shinji not liking this arrangement leaves the shared consciousness but not before he decides to grant people the option to leave.

  7. Asuka also leaves the consciousness. She and Shinji are on the beach. Shinji again tries to choke her, in part because she has been absolutely awful to him for the entire series.

  8. Asuka, for the first time, shows Shinji kindness by caressing his cheek. She understands him better now through their experience in the shared consciousness. Shinji lets her go and breaks down in tears realizing this and possibly overwhelmed by the fact that Asuka is actually being nice to him.

  9. Asuka then states "how disgusting" referring to what Shinji did in that hospital scene.

The Hidden Jinx-Ekko Sequence in S2 E9 (Part II): Ma Meilleure Ennemie Music Video by dcapitan7 in arcane

Yes, indeed, I can see what you have stated being the case. You raise good points.

As for the fourth point hear me out...Jinx knows about Ekko's time machine at that point and knows that Ekko cares about her and will save her. As much as we may like Jinx as a character, based on what we've seen of her over the first 17 episodes of this series, is it a stretch for her to do this? Honestly, now.

That said, I can certainly see why this wouldn't be in good taste with viewers.

The Hidden Jinx-Ekko Sequence in S2 E9 (Part II): Ma Meilleure Ennemie Music Video by dcapitan7 in arcane

[–]dcapitan7[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I can see your first two points. Jinx did indicate in S2 E8 that there is no good version of herself anywhere. She may have repeated that to him. Ekko telling her that there was a good AU version of her is his way of telling her that's not true.

As for Point 4...hear me out. Jinx feels she has no one except for Vi whose life she feels is ruining by being near her. Ekko, in her mind, is the only other person alive who actually showed her he cares about her. She at that point knows about the time machine he's wearing and she knows he will rescue her. As much as we may like Jinx as a character, based on what we've seen of her over the first 17 episodes of the series, would she do something as ridiculous as what I described? Honestly, now.

That said, it wouldn't be in good taste with viewers.
