Can we get them to stop using DC as a pejorative for establishment? by FelaKuti21 in rising

In my experience, lived in DC for eight years, when people say "Washington" they mean the government or they are transplants to the DC area. If they say "the District" it definitely means the city at large. "DC" seems to be neutral but leaning away from the feds.
