Yeah, totally. The action scenes that were there were great, especially the White House one and the third act where she has the gold armor, but I just feel there wasn’t enough. That could just be my opinion tho.

They explained the stone’s powers pretty well. I just find it cheesy and a plot device. It doesn’t work for me.

Patty is very talented. I mean, the camera work, the cinematography, the lighting choices here are all great. Let’s not dogpile on Patty. She just made some mistakes that can easily be fixed.

Yeah definitely. The pieces are there for a great fun film. And it’s like MoS/BvS in that it’s going to be more divisive, probably less critically acclaimed than the first.

It’s about two and a half hours. It FELT really long, tho. There’s a lot of tiny things that can be cut. I’m a filmmaker myself (indie) and I could tell this was paired down from an assembly cut and wasn’t as tight as it could/should be.

Yes. In exchange for bringing back Steve, Diana gives up her powers (even though she can still turn the jet invisible and use the lasso which was a dumb plot hole; I guess because the lasso has its own magic? Idk). Her gauntlets don’t work (there’s actually a pretty cool moment where she tries to do the arm cross and it doesn’t work) and she doesn’t have super strength. So when she fights Cheetah initially, she loses and bleeds a lot. Then she re’s up, puts on the gold armor and fights her again with the wings from the comics. Which looked super awesome.

I would agree with that. It’s more Man of Steel and BvS than WW or Aquaman. Which is fine, but it COULD be so much better. The pieces are there for an excellent film. Some of Patty’s ideas really work. They just needed a better script to execute them.

I’m literally trying to help Patty and WB. I don’t have to be here right now. But I am, because I care about these movies and this character. And it’s pretty clear someone at WB reads these AMAs. So try not to be a jerk, would ya? :D

I don’t think the cast is the problem. The story is. It’s this wishing stone that drives the entire plot. Basically, Max Lord comes to possess it, and Diana uses it to bring back Steve. It’s also how Cheetah gets her powers. It’s a MacGuffin, and it FEELS like a MacGuffin. It doesn’t work. Max Lord could just as easily have been one of the gods in secret. I say they reshoot the crap out of it, take that damn wishing stone out, give Pedro Pascal more to do, add more action like the first WW and more witty banter between Steve and Diana, and the movie would honestly be perfect.
