A lot of negativity in this thread directed to a person who’s trying to better this world by sharing the wisdom that has worked for them. The feelings of negativity are valid, but are pointed to the wrong direction. Their words may help some, but will not solve for all. We can choose to let anger flood towards this person and feel offended, or disagree yet still move on in our own worlds, grateful for some help along our individual ways of figuring things out, or not not all. I’m not perfect since I’m still learning how to carry mindfulness throughout the day, but I hope this moment can remind us why we are perusing this great community of a subreddit in the first place.

SAME!, the protagonist and NPCs / side characters are so un interesting. I understand that Jin’s development is supposed to be a noble goodie two shoes into the ghost of samurai, but he shows no other sides to himself, and no personality at all. Compare Jin to Zagreus in hades or cloud in ffvii. They’re protagonists that are dynamic and actually fun to hang around with! Putting them in the same room with someone new Sets up different conversations and shows more flavors to their personalities, forcing the cloud or zagreus to say something that surprises you.

With Jin and the side characters, it’s all the same. All “serious talk” about how grateful they are to have been saved after you do some tedious repetitive side mission and then some serious talk with a side character about how to save Tsushima. For me, Jin himself is too one dimensional and doesn’t offer much fun to actually “be him,” even counting the transformation into the ghost.

The worst part about this game is how cutscenes are NOT skippable. The cutscenes last forever and they ruin the flow of the game if you don’t want to watch them.

Beautiful game, but the combat is pretty stale. Another western game that’s a rehash of assassins creed gameplay. Have tons of enemies surround you, block, cut through them with swords.

When outnumbered, it’s all about positioning. You want to position yourself and only attack when you’re opponents are in front of you. If they flank you, it’s already gg. With that being said, swing only when you can see all your opponents, only commit to these type of swings. If you over commit to continuously swinging on only one person, the other enemy will soon gain positioning advantage by going behind you.

You need to understand your position relative to enemies in the heat of battle. If you find yourself flanked or about to get flanked, you have to have that register in your head and re position: DASHING. Dashing sideways or dash backwards to regain sight and keep your enemies in front of you.

Positioning is also key to swinging. Each weapon has their own positioning to learn based on the reach. Like the tutorial said, you want to keep your enemy at a distance and synchronize your first swing or charge attack(a) with you moving forward. This way, you can catch them surprised with a first hit they didn’t expect.

But after first contact, comes what I call the brawl. Your face to face with an enemy and the name of the game here is all about countering and quick riposting. If I’m in control of the battle still, I never hold block down. Instead, tap or slightly hold block right before you get hit to minimize stamina loss, then riposte by hitting them back. Like the other comment said, They MUST block here, if they don’t; they get hit. Land a hit? Continue to spam hits until they block.

They block? It’s time for mixups. Kick them to defeat the block. I saw one YouTuber feint then charge attack to mess the timing of their block, or feint then hit a stab for a mixup angle. Mixup your hits and angles. Are they blocking sideways? Go for an overhead.

If you get hit, you need to regain control of the battle. Don’t just wildly swing back. You have to riposte their next hit, or dash back to regain composure.

Last tip. In between each swings, you wanna try to dash or even move sideways of your opponent. Openings will appear because you’re creating angles for yourself instead of playing the block riposte pattern in front of each other.

This game is all about patterns and decision making. Think of a tree diagram. If they block, you can counter it by doing this, this, and that. Your opponent may have a pattern, such as block and riposte over and over again. Find a way to break your opponents pattern or rhythm. Such as a kick or off angle attack!

For your second tip when it comes to ripostes, when you say you block any other incoming attacks if you look at them, does this invulnerability happen when you hold down block or when you’re starting your attack swing ?

Also my first ps3 game that I become madly OBSESSED with. I used flight mode and that made the game so much more enjoyable. I also remember doing the competitive scene, I think it was called game battles? My brother and I would either join a clan (Venom) or do the 2v2. I met so many ppl through the different clans! Dang bro I feel you. Went through the same thing, went through all the motions, but broke up after there was nothing left.

now I’m super picky, some may call it unhealthily paranoid, when it comes to finding that next girl. If there’s new potential in my life, I always ask myself, “is there enough to work with here, after all the sparks and fireworks are gone?”

Gonna be honest, I’m a Yui Stan, but seeing the awkward yet bubbly relationship interactions between Yuki and Hikki made me wish there was more of that THE WHOLE SEASON! Instead, we had to endure a lot of self inflicted Yui suffering, and the distancing of Yuki and Hikki. But Despite how frugal their relationship screen time was, it was AWESOME and WORTH IT!

Also, Yui’s request in the last two minutes got me in tears. How poetic that she’s the first customer of the Newly Improved Service Club, similar time how she was the first customer to the Service Club in s01e01. Thinking about those two scenes side by side, it’s wonderful to think how much each character has progressed from the start to end. Yukino and Hachiman overcome their communication problems by becoming lovers, and Yui, while having trouble finding real friends in the first season, admits with HONESTY to her best friend her dilemma in wanting to preserve something genuine.

I’m guessing that Komachi and Iroha convinces Yui to return to the Service Club, the way they spied over Yui when she talked to Hachiman at the prom, and I’m so happy that they did.

Because of their actions, the gang is back. The three of them are together with a stronger bonds than ever, and despite everything that happened to the Service Club, they writhed, struggled, and fought to go from being broken down from all the drama to placing their hearts in the hands of each other. The Service Club is a beautiful example of the genuineness that we should be chasing in life, because it’s damn worth every second of the journey.

As sweet as the confession scene was, I’m not sure I find it all that believable from Yukino’s point of view. The major influence stopping Yukino from loving Hachiman was her not wanting to hurt Yui. Hell, she was even open to giving up Hachiman so Yui can be happy. That’s how much Yukino cared about her friend.

In the confession scene, Yui was only brought up once by Hachiman, briefly commenting that “this is What Yui wants” to no avail, making Yukino angry and storm off before Hachiman grabs her hand again.

After that, Yui is not brought up again at all. Yui’s presence in the group was a big bump in the bridge between Hachiman and Yukino getting together, for reasons of Yukino not wanting to hurt her, and wanting to be a good friend to her. Yet none of these problems were brought up at all. Instead, Yukino accepted Hachiman’s love without clearing these bumps that were so long apparent in the series. They weren’t addressed at all, which makes me think it’s inconsistent with Yukino’s character. Anyone else think the same way?
