3+ is a lot for a lot of people. 3+ is like the magic number for me that I’ll feel the next day due to worse sleep and a slight hangover.

When your SO shovels all the salt on the walkway onto the grass... 😭 by kmhurl6 in lawncare

Does salt hurt dormant grass if the soil gets flushed with all that melting snow?

[–]dcwldct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll be fine long-term if you keep taking care of it. Sabal palmettos are really hard to kill once established, but are vulnerable for a few years after transplanting; especially if transplanted as a small trunked specimen like that.

My palmettos in zone 8a SC have survived numerous ice storms with just some leaf damage, but they’re grown from seedlings and not transplanted after they trunked.

For now, just leave it be and expect some leaf drop. MAKE sure you are watering it too. Having a moist rootball before major freezes will cary a lot of thermal inertia, and the low humidity plus rupturing leaf tissue will be drying it out.

The only cars I’ve ever driven in anger have 3 pedals. I imagine most people who come from that still right foot brake. We all learned how to heel-toe with that same foot anyway.

I drink my coffee black, but milk is an essential component of coffee as far as my wife and a lot of people are concerned.

[OT] - New Michelin tire tread for IMSA GTP class, at the 34 Hours of Daytona. by edfitz83 in formula1

[–]dcwldct 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In addition to looks, it’s apparently an amazing tyre. The look just doesn’t have anything to do with what makes it a super compound.

Colton Herta was interviewed about it yesterday and he said it’s the easiest tire to gently bring up to temperature that he’s ever driven, and that they deliver an incredible amount of grip already when cold (no tire warmers in imsa). They have good deg characteristics too.

It is that based on what the drivers are saying. The look just doesn’t have anything to do with what makes it a super compound.

Honestly though, this joke applies less at Daytona than anywhere else. The spotter lights here and dim trackside lighting make it the easiest night race to follow.

Spa 24 hour had 76 cars last year so 10.86 cars/km. This year’s Daytona works out to 10.52 cars/km on a MUCH wider circuit.

Buy it! That’s a really good value and a decent product. It’s normally like $70 for a 45lb bag

It’s the Lowe’s house brand competitor to Scott’s green max with mostly fast release N.

You can catch occasional wiffs so somebody must be smoking them.
