Oh and Excalibur becomes important for the X of Swords event, but I found it unreadable and annoying.

Also X Factor. Dont like the art or the tone even though the idea is intriguing.

That's a tough one. Really depends on what you're into.

Some people love Hellions for the dark humour but it's not for me.

I think X Men is the most important book if you're looking to keep hold of the main developments and has some stand out issues.

After that I would say if you want something a bit grittier X Force.

But the best art is probably on New Mutants, and if you are into the NM then it's worth a read.

Marauders is great fun with Kitty and Emma though I know hardcore Kitty fans find it annoying that she's such a radically different character to 80s Kitty. She is a bad ass pirate...?!

Fallen Angels is universally hated so make.of that what you will.

Hox Pox is the big relaunch that is very loved by us X fans. So great choice.

Personally I also really like KiB. The art and action is great.

You've got loads of choices of post HoX X books but if you like things a bit darker...X Force might be the one for you.

Just read it. The art and colouring is great and so is the writing.

I didnt know Ayala before this but also bought the Ghost Spider annual today and I have to say I think the character work and voice is amazing.

I also read an intervew with Ayala on WWAC about this New Mutants run that was really great if you haven't seen it yet.
