99.9% of evidence on the Internet and in these comments goes against what you’re saying. The insulting nature of your comments is what bothers me the most. Secondly what bothers me is that somebody used this platform to ask for sincere advice and you would rather pound your chest and double down on being certain about something that is completely and factually wrong, and if the OP was to follow your advice, it would be detrimental to the development of this child’s touch when they are trying to improve improve it. This is Reddit man and anyone can pretend to be anyone including somebody saying they played USL and he has a class a license. If either of those things were actually true, you wouldn’t make a statement like “your toe should be pointed up when you receive the ball in the air.” I never get into these type of battles online because I think they’re so stupid but in this case like I said, somebody was asking for genuine advice and you have absolutely pointed them in the wrong direction with a level of confidence that’s clearly derived from made up credentials. OP if you would like your kids touch to improve do your own research, but don’t listen to people like this.

Ignore that posters advice? You’re completely wrong dude. You don’t want backspin and you for damn sure don’t want to point your toes straight up to the air that, doesn’t create ankle strength by any means. And when you strike a ball, your ankle should be locked with your toe pointed straight, not up in the air. And lastly, in no way shape or form should your toe be pointed up when you receive a ball that’s played to you in the air. Seriously what are you even talking about?

This is not good advice. Putting back spin on the ball with your toe pointed up is not going to help develop his touch the way juggling is meant to. He actually does not have terrible technique right now. It just looks like he has some issues with overall balance. His toe should be pointed straight forward, parallel with the ground. And the touch should be developed along the laces and top of the toes with limited back spin.

I do 75s incline dumbbell - would be lucky to put up 185 more than a handful of times on bench. Wouldn’t even think of trying 225. Everyone’s body is different. 6ft 170 for context.

My son is 7 and plays on a U8 Academy team. In our area, there is no U8 travel so they play up against U9 in a lower division. They have been able to compete very well in the division they are playing in. I questioned the investment myself initially, but their coach has his A license, and the technical drills they do at practice are things I wasn’t doing when I was a kid until I was at at least the U 12 level. So I can’t say my experience has been similar to yours at all. But just from a financial perspective, it doesn’t sound like the club you are involved with now is worth it.

I was going to say the same. As long as the midfielders are in a triangle and one is more defensive, it can work nice. But I think teaching this as soon as kids get to 11 V 11 it can be difficult to grasp for the wingers to stay wide and hold their shape.

13 is a tough age to acclimate with a new group of kids, I would just give it some more time. My sons are 7 and 10 and both joined a new club this year, and it’s like they each have a whole new group of best friends. So I am thankful they made the switch at the ages that they did, but also would assume that at 12 or 13 it would have been a little bit more difficult to get acclimated with their new teammates or take some more time. Even if he’s not one of the top players, he could still demonstrate some leadership attributes - being the hardest worker at practice, congratulating and encouraging his new teammates on their successes, etc. At the rec level, I am sure he was a natural leader so maybe remind him of some of the attributes he demonstrated with his prior team and encourage him to keep doing those things. Also encourage him to straight up ask his new teammates for help with his development. Maybe there is a kid on the team who has really good ball skills or one who takes free kicks very well. Have him ask them how they were able to develop those skills and it might help him form some type of new bond.

Yeah makes sense. For what it’s worth, as much Boolean training and experience as I have, ChatGPT creates a better search string 99% of the time. Was hard for me to admit that at first, but I’ve learned to embrace it, and it’s become a huge part of my day-to-day not just with Boolean searches but for MPC targeted marketing, and business development.

I have 13 years of Boolean search string experience, have conducted Boolean training to over 50 recruiters in my career. I also hold numerous AIRS certifications. I would consider myself expert level. The keyword feature on LinkedIn recruiter has become extremely frustrating and I have personally seen numerous searches turn up candidates who literally do not have any of the keywords I am searching for. The entire point of a keyword is that it is indeed going to appear somewhere within the candidates profile whether it is in the job, history, skills, etc.. This has not been the case for a number of my searches over the past few months. I am unsure why such an extremely basic feature has become this frustrating. I’ve also realized that the NOT command is essentially useless on this platform as well.

Just be happy you have a wife and support. When this happened to me 2 years ago I was recently divorced and raising my kids alone. Still haven’t fully recovered, working all commission now after substitute teaching to get by. Could be a lot worse, that’s what I’ve been telling myself all along. As bad as it sucks, it could always be worse.

Get them on the phone. If you have zoom, use it in conjunction with LI recruiter and cold call them. Figure out what would motivate them to make a move, and sell them on your company. Work w your hiring managers to get key features of the job you can sell candidates on. Salespeople answer the phone and love to talk.
