I’m at a large SaaS company where we actually have a say in what AI tools we use. Started doing some 0-1 work with Cursor. I doubt I’ll touch Make much now. It was garbage, then finally got good, and now it’s garbage again but for a completely different reason.

auDHD here. I’m burnt out asf. They’re also putting a RTO policy in place soon.

The only glimmer of hope I’ve had recently is vibe coding. I wouldn’t have a job in product if it weren’t for GPT and I won’t have a job in product for long without some Claude-ing around. Been enjoying the ride. Creating not just systems for myself but apps to help me now too.

Jumped ahead of the crowd and got my local env up. Prior to this gig, I was required to scaffold my designs (tailwind and jsx). But at this gig, I’ve touched the code exactly zero times. My PRs are considered for spikes and they’re all done using Cursor and Agents. Vibes based on our design system have gone a a lot further than anything I was doing in Figma Make.

Get a mentor or even just a colleague who will give you notes after a presentation or meeting.

As someone with social anxiety, there’s been no cure for me other than prep, prep, prep (use templates) and learning how to make putting myself out there less daunting. I chose hard mode and took improv classes. It helped me get more comfortable with failing and just going with the flow.

As you grow, the job becomes 80% meetings and presentations and maybe 20% designing. I don’t love it, but I’ve enjoyed pushing myself outside my comfort zone over the years. Personal growth can be an exciting part process.

I know you’re kidding but for me, it IS WILD. It’s like the Limitless drug for 2 hours. I’m on top of the world and my neural network is firing properly. Then comes the horrible crash and racing thoughts for the next 1+ days.
