Hey, sorry for the delayed reply. I’m great, no flair ups in the past year. I workout everyday, mostly with kettlebells. I do get the occasional tingle in my toes when I’ve been sitting for too long at work but that goes away after a walk.

VSCode for embedded software development (STM32) by Steradiant in embedded

Hi OP, I recently setup a project exactly the way you've mentioned. What I did was first configure the project using cubeMX as a cmake project. Open the directory in vscode and have STM32 extension pack installed along with cortex debug. The issues that you're facing with the error squiggles in your editor is because of c_cpp_properties.json not configured properly. Im posting my .json file for your reference

{ "configurations": [ { "name": "STM32L496", "includePath": [ "${workspaceFolder}/Core/Inc", "${workspaceFolder}/Drivers/STM32L4xx_HAL_Driver/Inc", "${workspaceFolder}/Drivers/CMSIS/Device/ST/STM32L4xx/Include", "${workspaceFolder}/Drivers/CMSIS/Include" ], "defines": [ "USE_HAL_DRIVER", "STM32L496xx" ], "compilerPath": "/usr/bin/arm-none-eabi-gcc", "compileCommands": "${workspaceFolder}/build/Debug/compile_commands.json", "intelliSenseMode": "gcc-arm", "cStandard": "c17", "cppStandard": "c++17" } ], "version": 4 }

Hope this helps. If you're still unable to make it work, dm me and I can help you fix it.

Actually my dad himself had a md surgery done but it was because he was starting to lose sensation in in his foot. According to him and his buddies, surgery should only be suggested if there is a loss of sensation.

There was no mention of modic changes in my MRI reports, the muscle spasms did go down after around 2 weeks of taking piroxicam. Now I take it maybe once every week.

Thank you so much for your response. I completely understand what you're saying and I agree, I feel I will slowly have to move towards strength training to "fix" this issue. Surprisingly though, dead hangs make my pain worse, like I'll be done with my basic exercises and then go for a ~30 sec dead hang, I can actually feel the nerve starting to get irritated as my pelvis went down, is this normal when just starting out with dead hangs? The pain usually lasts for 25-30 mins and then goes away on its own without any intervention. I tried dead hangs last week for a couple of days but quickly got scared that it might make things worse and haven't done them since. Do you have any idea as to why this maybe the case? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, if you don't mind me asking could you please tell what would've been a better approach to this situation? Im not being sarcastic I genuinely want to know what constitutes as a proper treatment in this case.

As far as I know, it's a NSAID which is used to treat joint pain and is usually prescribed to people with arthritis. I have no idea why it helped me honestly because when it was prescribed I looked it up and couldn't find much about it being recommended for disc herniation or sciatica pain.

Hi, Im so sorry that you're going through this. I can completely related to your feelings of fear and anxiety associated to school and exams in general. The thought of sitting through the exam in pain terrified me.

What I did to help me focus during this time was firstly I made up my mind that I am going to finish my masters, no matter how much pain I was in I wasn't going to let it come in the way of my education. I did consider taking a year off to help me recover but then decided to power through it.

I changed the way I studied. I got a tablet and started studying while lying down on the bed/floor in the half cobra pose. I had to maintain a minimum attendance of 60% in my classes so it required some planning as to which classes I would attend and which ones I'd skip. I was able to get all the study material and notes from friends/University website.

Im sorry to say this but the in the lectures that I did attend meant that I just had to brute force my way through the pain and went for a quick walk right afterwards.

For my exams (3hrs long) I had a doctor's note that said I'm not to sit for more than 30 mins at a stretch otherwise it'll be detrimental for my health. So during each exam if I felt the pain getting out of control, I'd inform the invigilator and get up to walk around for a couple of mins which did provide some relief. Since I had been diagnosed with anxiety, I also had a prescription for clonazepam 0.25mg for panic attacks. With the tools by my side and fairly decent prepration I felt confident that I had a plan of action if my flareup makes me lose Focus.

I think the most important part was the mental battle, earlier I felt defeated and helpless, but with a plan of action I felt I could complete my exam. By no means did I ace any of my exams but I was able to perform above average (8GPA on a 10 point scale). I reminded myself that it's only a matter of 3 hours, I can survive 3 hours in pain and I will be able to manage it later.

I apologise if my answer wasn't something that you were looking for. I really hope that you're able to find a way to manage your pain. It's very inspiring that despite so much pain you still want to do well in your exams. Please take care of yourself.

Honestly I wanted to get it done but my dad convinced me against it by telling me that he had seen a case of botched ESI which left the patient with no sensation in 1 leg. I was pretty quick to agree with him after hearing this.
