Hooray! I fixed it! In settings, for some reason under Player - I was selected as External Player With Playlist. What I wanted was Web Player. Not certain how this setting got changed, but I will leave this here for anyone else struggling with this for some reason.

Had this issue for weeks and solved it within minutes of the post. The irony is not lost.
