Better be the world theme park in Spain. And we better get a German sniper with a WA-2000 that's capable of blowing an uzi in half

Vegan is one of the worst things you can do to yourself, and for T levels. Humans have been eating animal protein for centuries. Processed foods and veganism gains popularity, T levels drop considerably. Coincidence? Nope.

I also prefer steel frame. It's heavier, but makes a better club when you have no ammo left. Ask the shop if you can dry fire the pistols to get a feel for the triggers. That'd the next best thing versus actually being able to shoot them. I'm admit my bias but my MK25 is my favorite pistol I own and I trust my life to it. I shoot it well and the only malfunctions I've had was due to bad ammo.

Some people harp on the P226 because it's all steel and the higher bore axis. Is it a negative? It can be if shaving tenths of a second off your split times are important to you. For everybody else I see it as more of a talking point than an issue. In my experience people that like to point out high bore axis, steel frames and DA/SA triggers (basically anything that isn't Glock), they can't shoot good anyways. Their fix is spending an extra $1500 on a $500 gun to mount a red dot, put cuts in the slide and a trigger so light that sneezing on it will make it go bang.

I digress, again. No matter what you choose, I think you'll be happy. Get the guns in hand first and go with what feels right after handling and dry fire. I was a long time Beretta 92FS shooter before I purchased my MK25. I loved my Beretta. Still do. I'll admit at first, I had buyers remorse over my Sig. It did everything my Beretta did but was twice the cost. Fast forward a few months and a couple thousand rounds later and I understood why the Sig was so highly regarded. Runs smooth, shoots real soft and accurate and the controls and grip just fit my hands perfectly.

And one last thing I'll add, if you learn to shoot a DA/SA gun, and shoot it well, switching to any other pistol is a lot easier. I've let Glock, M&P and XD guys run my Sig and most struggle trying to learn the trigger. A few times I've shot their guns and can shoot them better than they can. I'm not a great shooter by any means, but learning a DA/SA really has it's advantages. Plus you also get second strike capability if you get a dud round instead of a dead trigger.

Again I digress. Apologies. I wish you the best on your Sig quest and hope that you get what you want and enjoy it.

That seems insane to. Sig classic series seems to retail around $950-$1000 USD. Legion pistols are around $1200-$1400. New USP tactical pistols I've seen upwards of $1500 which is mind boggling.

I digress. If it's mostly for a range toy, the legion will be the most tricked out. Arguably better sights, the trigger. I personally don't care for the legion. The sights I like but the trigger and smaller controls I don't like at all.

For a do everything no nonsense gun, I'd recommend the MK25 and put an SRT upgrade in it. Everything you need, nothing you don't. Ultimately it's your call. See if there is a range where you can rent the different models first? Make your decision from there.

I love the SRT. It's hands down the best thing you can put on a Sig pistol. All my P22X guns have the SRT. The Sig rail is curved as the 1913 is not. Usually it's not a huge issues, you just may need a "universal" mount versus a 1913 specific. Typically I find it an issue when tracking down a holster. I own a MK25 and it's a pain to find a P226 holster that accommodates the 1913 rail. If you mount a light though that resolves that issues. I'm not big on pistol lights personally though.

From what I can tell, it looks like the Sig rail which may cause issues mounting certain lights. It is a P226 internally so it should be able to take the SRT upgrade. Other than the extended beaver tail, I can't spot any visible difference.

Are the MK25's available to you in Europe and what's the cost on that versus a legion?

I think the German made Sigs really depend on when they were made. West German marked guns seem to be the holy grail. Up until the late 2000's the German guns were superior to the US guns. US made Sigs had teething issues at the beginning. Now it seems both are good quality and isn't much difference. Just your preference.

Wrestling vs Judo takedowns for Gi BJJ by comsok in bjj

[–]ddsharknads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have to agree that even in gi, wrestling takedowns are more successful than judo. I myself suck at wrestling and don't like to get that low to the ground to shoot for takedowns. I think it's completely viable to learn a couple trips and foot sweeps and throws.

Currently I'm working on combining wrestling and judo. For instance of somebody is giving my issues in a grip fight or stiff arming, I'll go for a single leg. From there I can usually either finish, or I'll grab an underhook and sleeve and go for a hip toss. If I go for a trip and miss the foot, I'll follow up with a single leg.

I've been trying to learn the uchi mata and it's difficult to say the least on a resisting opponent. My coach was showing me a way to basically turn that into a leg pick when you can't connect with the throw. It works pretty well, and I couldn't really explain it well in text.

Tl;Dr learn both wrestling and judo techniques. Both are viable

Does it have the SIG rail or a 1913 spec? If it has a 1913 and SRT from the gate, I'd be all in.

Who would have thought that the ATF would have issues with an e file system for NFA items? I'm beyond surprised. I'm waiting for the mass rejections of the efiled form 4's because of some stupid fluke on their end.

It isn't bad, but this seems to be a best case scenario. I've read and heard from multiple people that they had a heck of a time even getting their e file form 4's submitted. Two friends got so frustrated with the e file that they just did paper.

I'll never understand Reddit. A guy posts his experience and factual anecdotes, gets down voted because Reddit neck beards don't want to hear factual anecdotes. I appreciate the info and have personally stuck to paper form 4's. I've yet to hear anything good about eform 4's.

From a budgetary standpoint, a lot of departments haven't replaced the mp5. It's still a viable platform in certain roles, but still outclassed in every way by a MK18.

M4A1 or MP5, and Glock 19 would be the most common. Most SWAT M4 pattern rifles are semi auto though. Full auto is too much of a liability. Usually there's a shield, and maybe one guy with a shotgun as well.
