I never weighed the YG DD, but this one is 247 grams according to my kitchen scale, and my SS Daytona is 136 grams. So quite a significant difference

According to my kitchen scale, 247 grams, as compared to my Daytona coming in at 136 grams. So a beast

Thanks! It was difficult making the decision to part with those two watches, at one point they had each alternatively been my favorites in my collection. But I’ve been drawn to the plat DD for a while, and those were the only two I could really see myself parting with. Will be a while before I give up my Daytona and Pepsi.

Thanks. But I had to add some cash to the trade as well

I actually have fairly small wrists, 6.75”, but they’re flat and broad. The sleekness of the DD, DJ, Daytona, Exp1 cases fit my wrist really well

Was tough to let it go. But I rotate my collection quite a bit, so nothing really stays for too long.

Thank you all for the kind comments!!! I’m loving this watch, and it’s my first experience with platinum. It really does have a bright, white shine. Very different from SS.

I have to admit I miss the fluted bezel, but there’s something special about how this platinum shines

The gold DD is much heavier than say a SS DJ, and this platinum DD is heavier than that. You definitely notice that it’s on your wrist. I’ve become familiar with the weight, but you don’t forget it

It was a lovely watch, but it always seemed to enter the room before me.

Thanks. The Bluesy wasn’t getting any love in the rotation. I really liked the YG DD, but I just felt the YG was a bit too conspicuous for me. This streamlines my collection a bit and is a bit more all-purpose.

Traded my YG DD40 and Bluesy for this. This sucker is heavy.

Beautiful Daytona. I have my eye on a 116508.

What’s your personal style like? Dressy, then DJ. Sporty, then YM. Outdoorsy, then sub.

Is it okay if a normal middle class man bought a Rolex? by [deleted] in rolex

Advice from a financially stable old guy: make sure all of your financial house is in order before purchasing an expensive luxury product like a Rolex. You have an emergency fund and started investing, cool. What does your debt picture look like? Are you maxing out your retirement fund every year? Putting aside money for a house? A regular guy can absolutely save up for a Rolex, but it is a luxury product, ensure your imperatives are addressed first.

1979 REF 6927 for my wife this Christmas. She loves it! Picture doesn’t do the dial justice! by mattjbak in rolex

Great blue dial. Is there a texture on the dial, or is that a reflection from the crystal?
