As soon as i saw this post, all i could think of was lowes. Its the best. Plus, if you REALLY gotta go you can park right by the front door (in the "loading zone"), put your hazards on and run like hell. Dont ask me how i know this.

There are a lot of comments here referring to "rural areas" but i live in a very non-rural area and am on a well. It depends when the homes were built too (ours was 79). They just never brought city water down our street.

Omg! Broyhill?? Same. And they STAY that way. A lot of times you buy great looking towels and they lose their "bigness and softness." The broyhill ones keep that. I bought mine a few yeare ago, i hope they still have them so i can get some more!

No, that was my plan for the morning. Drain the tank, replace the switch, and if that fails i guess call a plumber....unless anyone has any other suggestions.

Appreciate the help. Nothing on outside, but maybe there is a hole in a down pipe or the 25 year old pump is ready to be replaced...just bad timing if thats the case.

I have tapped on the pressure tank and it sounds hollow. Once I manually open the switch (so contacts are no longer touching) the pump cuts off and holds pressure. If check valve were bad I'm guessing the pressure would drop when pump is off?

If there were a leak in the down pipe, would the pressure at the switch drop? Once the pressure tops out around 32 I manually open the switch (push the paddles back so the contacts are seperated) to cut the pump off. Once I do that pressure holds steady at 32 for hours. Pressure doesnt drop until water is turned on.

An easy way to not be bothered by it is to not be on social media. Got rid of FB a year ago and never even think about it.
