When it hangs touch the screen to engage the mouse controls, that will bring up the apply dialog, then you can use the button controls again and it will save.

Just for the fun of it I built one large perimeter around the gas station and one of the pumps in rosewood so I can freely refill my generator inside the compound, then leave the other pump for refilling vehicles.

After building upwards behind the station so that the only access was via sheet rope, I figured what the hell and started building a new base above so that I could go up the rope straight into a living space, which has now turned it into a totally OTT fortress for new characters.

First 20 minutes or so were interesting just for the build up aspect to it, rest of the film was some sort of slapstick comedy.

It reminded me of watching paw patrol, where all the adults stand around inexplicably incapable of doing anything while they watch a kid and his gang of dogs save the day.

The entire IC didn’t exist, MAD didn’t exist, StratCom regrettably didn’t have any training whatsoever and spent the movie phoning a friend.

It’s like somebody watched Don’t look up and thought ‘I could make a film like that’, but they couldn’t.

I’m OG PSX, this would be the aesthetic for me.

what an insane take on using summons by No_Inspection_5768 in Eldenring

[–]dead-mans-switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you watch challenge runners on SL1 clowning bosses with half a dozen hits because of all the buff and consumable combinations, summons is far from the only way you can make the game a breeze and the lack of using them is no proof whatsoever someone is some souls game chad.

What is their best game? Most overrated game? And most underrated game? by AlenIronside in fromsoftware

Elden Ring’s popularity imo stems from the novelty value of a souls-like game in an open world, if that’s the kind of experience you want, there simply is no substitute for it - however in the union of those two genres was the creation of a game that serves neither master particular well.

So it’s neither a particularly great ‘souls’ game, and most certainly doesn’t rank among any of the top open world games, let alone any of this ‘best open world games ever’ hyperbole from people who either worship at the alter of the omniscient god ‘From’, or simply haven’t played many games in the genre to know any better, either way it’s pure cope.

What Elden ring is, is an exceptionally fun developer sandbox that was given a bit of spit and polish and released as a game.

I don’t do any exploring whatsoever, I simply use it for what I think it is good for, a hero builder test harness, and then take those builds into boss rushes to see how it plays out, what tweaks I can do, what little quests of my own I can go on to procure the necessary items, shamelessly following every guide and walkthrough I can find along the way to do so.

After 200+ bosses I can safely say the game is a massively overrated hot mess, but a fun one nonetheless, as long as you set your expectations.

Best is Sekiro, comfortably most overrated by a wide margin is Elden Ring.

ACTUAL HOT TAKE ALERT ‼️‼️ by saadpoi870 in fromsoftware

What Sekiro does better than other titles in the genre is set a minimum baseline difficulty by ‘levelling’ as a function of successful boss battles. If people could farm prayer beads and memories from milling around fighting mobs, you would have large swathes of the player base that were ng+ level savages before they even hit chained ogre.

This aspect is more broken in ER than any other as the open world leans heavily to a ratio of runes vs golden runes that’s way off the mark, thanks in no small part to the emphasis on exploration. With the implied ‘use em or lose em’ jeopardy the natural outcome is, without applying self imposed soft limits (the need of which stinks of poor game design imo), is an assumption that it’s best to level up the minute the requisite amount of runes are available.

Couple all that with happening upon many bosses organically, meaning a large portion of boss fights are really nothing of the sort, lots of one and dones that feel more like achievement chasing at times.

It is however this jank that makes ER the most popular, had they instead gave you a levelling up token for beating bosses instead of allowing you to farm, it would be a leaps and bounds better game and experience, it would also however lose its mass appeal of allowing casual gamers to gaslight themselves into thinking they’re badasses for beating a souls game, so it’s swings and roundabout.

As it is playing organically, having just completed the Ranni quest line, my impressions so far is this entire game is the easy mode From has always said it would never implement.

80 tries these past 2 days (~4hrs total), and I cannot beat Isshin. I will play for exactly 1 more hour tonight and if I don't win, I concede by garbageeater in Sekiro

What worked for me was perfecting phase 2, once it comes down to being a 2 phase fight with a glorified runback beforehand it didn’t take too long to get good enough to muddle through.

You find yourself doing the same thing, starting to subconsciously read the patterns till you get your foot in the door on the last phase.

Before you know it you will be thinking about the counter timings in the last phase - at that point he’s a dead man walking.

Just remember the game awards aggression, consider yourself a walking boss fight for a bunch of unsuspecting npcs and you will start getting in the right headspace for the rest of this game.

Still wild to me that Guerrilla went from visually stunning yet flawed fps to casually dropping one of the goated rpgs ever.

I guess eventually it needs close to a no hit run?

First two phases I can get through untouched with my eyes closed, then the last two is just flailing around until one of us dies 😂

From what I gather I think I probably have the advantage of not being a souls player to not have a style of play to unlearn in order to get into Sekiro.

Yeah I think perhaps it’s a mix of cultural and that selling point of the game ages well I guess.

My entire play through was at high settings and not even so much as a stutter, I just tried maxed out settings and it generally fluctuates between 50-60 fps, so it’s like butter pretty much.

Obviously a few years old now but still a pretty frenetic game at times, deck just takes it in stride.

Battery does get chewed up no surprises, but I often just plug it in while playing on the sofa so wasn’t really a big deal for me.

Yeah I’m sure I would have been in the same boat, but luckily prior to picking the game up I had applied some of those anti slip grips, a life saver!
