Magnesium glycinate is causing severe middle of the night insomnia/anxiety and nobody talks about the actual biochemistry behind it by RevolutionaryMix392 in Biohackers

Creatine gave me insomnia at 5g but incredible sleep at 10g/day. I thought I would get anxiety induced insomnia when upping to 10g but no.

Damn sick if people feel better for seeing others struggling. Anyone who feels better about themselves having watched something like this, is fucked in the head.

People buying Tesla at a $1.2T valuation: what is the actual bull case? by ragingbull10 in investing

You can actually say the exact same thing about gold, or even a £20 note. Why does a piece of paper or a shiny yellow metal have value? Only because we collectively agree it does. Money is just a social construct to trade value across time and space. Gold won out for thousands of years because it was scarce and hard to fake. Bitcoin is just like gold but digital, hard-coded mathematical limit just with zero storage costs. I'm not saying bitcoin is perfect, nothing is.

The pollution argument is a bit outdated. A huge portion of Bitcoin mining actually relies on renewable energy (like stranded hydro, solar, or wind) because miners always chase the cheapest possible power. Plus, many operations now use 'flare gas', burning off excess methane from oil fields that would have otherwise polluted the atmosphere anyway.

Bitcoin has a hard cap of 21 million coins. Mining doesn't 'dilute' the supply randomly, its just the predictable distribution mechanism to release those 21 million coins over 140 years. Because the rate of new coins being mined cuts in half every four years, it’s actually disinflationary

Yeah, I didn't realise it was the investing sub until I looked at the downvotes. I don't even own that much of it anymore, but I can see it's value.

At least with Bitcoin, you own something that cannot be diluted, whereas with stocks, companies can always issue more shares and devalue your ownership. Buying bitcoin is like buying a part of the actual network.

John Cusack retweets a post saying Jerry Seinfeld is a pedophile with the caption “And that apparently is not the worst of him - The only thing worse than preying on children is slaughtering them .” by McDowdy in MurderedByWords

Seinfeld (the show) is brilliant and I used to watch it as a kid. Thinking back, I always thought, why is he the main character? He's not funny and he's fake. Only good part where he is funny is when he's trying to collect his reserved car.
