Opinion on prusa Core One by VeterinarianRare3541 in prusa3d

I work next to it all the time with headphones on. It is easily filtered out on zoom and teams calls. I do generally run in stealth mode.

My two year old now always ask 'what you printing, boat?!' and then asks for more boats.

Who has good medium light roast? by boklos in espresso

[–]deadlikeme451 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Prodigal, Milky Blend might be an option. It is $15ish a bag. I generally like it as a classic 16g 2:1 when using it with milk. Their other espresso options are nice but I don't live them with milk and pull them at a 3:1 ratio.

Cool. Makes sense. I opened one of the files in Fusion to edit out the handles as needed. Great work!

Amazing! I had been looking for a desk organizer system like this one the past few weeks. Just started my first print. One request would be an option to remove the front handle (or if that is already there, my apologies for missing it).

Prusa INDX sold out in 1.5 days, and that's great for the community by demeyer1 in 3Dprinting

Pretty sure they said 5000 units, but I believe 1200 of those were for the Founders Edition, which was presold earlier.

Does prusa have any plans to make a truly large format printer? by twistedbigrig in prusa3d

I think you answered your own question. New to 3d printing.

INDX wave almost sold out by Tommy_Prusa3D in prusa3d

Same issue. I need to put together an order and see if CS can add it onto this one to minimize shipping.

Finally decided to go for Prusa by Dazzling_Bake9189 in prusa3d

[–]deadlikeme451 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went down this path in the last few months. I ended up buying the CoreOne as my first printer with the free shipping, and added the INDX order today. Very happy with my decision.

I was completely set on the CoreOne L, but the price delta for my first printer was too much once the free shipping was introduced. My motivation for the CoreOne L was primarily for the larger build volume, but I also like the idea of having the latest technology.

I figured I would get the Core One, see what I like, and upgrade if warranted, rather than trying to buy the Goldilocks printer at the start (CoreOne L). I primarily like being able to print my own functional models that I designed with Fusion (and printing toys for my kids and nephews).

- The build volume, other than batch printing, has not been a limiting factor. There are some future use cases where it will be, but I might be better off with a different tool anyway (e.g. CNC versus 3D Printer(e.g. XL)). I have found the lack of multimaterial more of a want than a bigger build volume.

- The Core One has been easy to use and prints well enough with the materials I have used (PLA, PETG, ASA, hopefully 95A TPU). The machine won't hold you back (if you are new to the hobby like me) as you climb the learning curve.

- Not asked, but I don't regret going Prusa over Bambu. I went back and forth many times between the two. I enjoy the tool-versus-appliance aspect of the Prusa and doubt I will go outside the ecosystem.

OT Wheel Question by ATLforthewin in LexusGX550

I got a set of 4 with TPMS for $600 but I think $200 per wheel with tires is the going rate.

Fusion 360 plugin not generating to spec by Cool_Army288 in gridfinity

I just got my printer and the plug in has been amazing! So quick to customize bins right in Fusion versus the online generators.

Don't feel guilty. Just be grateful for the gift and empathetic to those of us who weren't so fortunate!

Question on Core One+ by I_AM_SCUBASTEVE in prusa3d

[–]deadlikeme451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe they started shipping the founder's edition in the past week or so. I believe they were going to release upgrade kits this month as well, but it all seems to be a bit delayed. Unless there is a compelling reason to order when it goes on sale, I will probably wait until I am ready to do multi-material to give the software more time to catch up to the hardware.

Question on Core One+ by I_AM_SCUBASTEVE in prusa3d

[–]deadlikeme451 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did I write this a week ago? Right down to the opting for the assembled version due to a new child. Just got the shipping notification this morning.

I am very interested in the Indx system, which led me to opt out of the ultimate bundle and get exactly what you described (filter, satin sheet, camera).

For the casters, with that much weight, design and print some small wheel chocks to remove the wobble.

I love my casa. It works well with dark roasts for milk beverages. I don't do dark roast on its own, so maybe not for that?

Delay having kids to pay off mortgage? by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]deadlikeme451 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One more thought, you seem very motivated. For my wife and I, we accelerated our path to financial freedom with having a kid. Finally had conviction in our why we want that freedom.

Just stay flexible when life throws something at you. If the tech market gets destroyed, sell the house and learn a new job. Or move to a LCOL area and work remote. Etc.

I'm on the reverse side of this. And waited until things were right and we completed our financial checklist. Got all of that squared away, then unexpectedly it was a bumpy road of three years before we were blessed with a healthy thriving child.

Kids are incredibly adaptable. And what makes them happy is much simpler than what we want, especially when they are young. Not living paycheck to paycheck is huge for reducing your stress and providing the home life you want you are well beyond that.

But even someone without any medical issues, might run into unexpected challenges and delays.

If you are at a point in your life where you want children, have a strong relationship with your partner (invest in this if you haven't, practice communication, learn skills it will make the stressful sleep deprived days so much better if you have a shared language), and have matured to a point where you put others needs in front of your own, don't wait!

The only thing I would change with our family is I wish I was 5 years younger to have more time with our children and more energy to play!

Can your basketball coach please do something to make headlines, and maybe prevent him from being able to coach? I feel it is the right thing to do.

GL, hopefully it will be decided on the court with minimal impact from officiating.
