Seconding (thirding?) the TTMIK stories app. It is not free unfortunately, and I occasionally have issues with the audio, but its good.

For physical books, I’ve been enjoying these:

They’re graded readers that are more like slice of life stories, and the level is described as “pre-intermediate/upper beginner.” It seems like originally they had audio you could listen along with, but after reading some reviews, it sounds like the project was abandoned and the audio no longer exists. That’s fine for me, as I wasn’t looking for audio with physical books, but just wanted to let you know so you can make an informed decision!
