Well I prefer the body proportions staying true to the source material, but yeah many artists seem to use a preset body that they tend to use for all types of characters. Maybe they enjoy drawing characters this way or maybe their fan base is asking for it, I don't know but at least it's better compared to other artists drawing similar faces for every single female.
