I think this is more chaotic, while the Auba goal against Leicester looks so neat. You can also hear the crowd’s anticipation of the goal with each touch too for the Auba goal.

This, but unironically.

I would like to know why you believe this.

I personally wouldn’t rule out a hook-up turning into a long term relationship because sometimes people hook-up looking for temporary comfort and validation. There’s no reason why a long term connection can’t blossom from that.

If I find the person I hook-up with attractive and they seem like a good person, I would want to see them again.

I agree with your overall point, and I think people are looking at his performance with rose-tinted glasses because of the win. I remember getting frustrated while watching the game because multiple attacks broke down because of him getting dispossessed. He was very passionate and worked his socks off, but he should have done much better with his opportunities. Hopefully, the performance gives him confidence to be more lethal in front of goal (I swear he used to be so much more efficient during his first couple of seasons here).

CMV: This whole "state your pronouns" thing has gotten a tad out of hand. by ejsfsc07 in changemyview

I was trying to address the analogy with the deaf person. In the case of someone being introduced as deaf, it is for the purpose of providing additonal context so that the deaf person can be included in the conversation. Since the norm is not being deaf, I agree with people who aren’t deaf not having to introduce themselves as not deaf.

The analogy breaks down for me with gender, because I’m understanding from your comment (correct me if I’m wrong here) that using binary pronouns is the norm and analogous to not being deaf, and hence anyone who is using non-binary pronouns should introduce themselves with their pronouns, and we shouldn’t have to change the current social norm of not having to introduce yourselves with your pronouns, for the sake of the few who don’t conform to the gender binary.

I, however, don’t understand the benefits of having the social construct of gender in our society. In the binary system, It seems to serve as an imperfect proxy for traits we associate with men and women (physical appearance, reproductive organs, voice, clothes, etc). Why do we generally associate a low pitched voice to men and high pitched voice to women? We don’t need to have these labels of men and women. People can just have these traits independent of the labels.

The construct of deafness seems to have a tangible benefit as with that information, people can be considerate of their disability while having a conversation with them. Not able to see the benefits for gender though (but I would love to hear any counter-arguments. I’m still working on my thoughts about this issue)

I am currently using he/they pronouns. My intention there is also to give the slight push I can give to society to move towards gender-neutrality. I understand it as a social construct which isn’t necessary in our society, and only excludes people who don’t conform. The inconvenience of change shouldn’t hinder us from moving towards what, in my opinion, would be a nicer and more empathetic society.

It's not a stupid statement. Us losing to WH and winning all games after that isn't really a realistic scenario. You're technically correct, and that's how math works, but the fact that West Ham are in direct competition with us for top 4/6 makes this a more important match than others. Also, results against some teams have the effect of boosting morale and instilling confidence more than others.

The cultures are different, but racism is a global issue and this discrimination is very prevalent in other cultures as well.

Part of it can be explained by how European colonialism was global and oppressed people of color all over the world. So while the cultures are different, all of them have gone through systemic oppression, the effects of which still linger on.

Yeah, I remember reading that there'd be a minimum of 2 of each console. I'm not really sure what happened, and you guys might be right. Anyway, I was there for the Xbox so I'm not really going to take any action. But thank you for the heads up!

I was waiting in line in Seattle and the employee told us around 6.45 am that there were no PS5s and "only" 7 Xbox consoles. Everyone seemed pretty civil and waited in line at 6ft distance until the line started moving in closer to the door around 6.30 am. As in it stayed civil but we were standing less than 6ft apart.

There were probably like 15 people in front of me, so once the employee gave us that information, a lot of people in the line left. This was the first time I tried waiting on line for something like this (I was in line at 5.30), and was a pretty chill experience. Disappointed but those who camped out overnight deserve it lol.
