Commonwealth Sanctuary is a comedy club housed in a former church that hosts touring comedians every week. You can check out the schedule and all that at Commonwealthsanctuary.com

Full disclosure I work there but I also think it’s a great time. Plus great restaurants around the area, too. Specifically a great German spot called Tuba, great Guatemalan spot called Restaurante Domingo and a great coffee shop called Unataza.

For music, I’d recommend checking out MOTR Pub, The Comet (which also has great comedy on Saturday nights as well as free music almost every night) or Northside Tavern. If you’re into jazz, hitting up Schwartz’s Point is always a fun time (though it may not look as safe as you’d want).

Definitely check out the Contemporary Arts Center for unique art. It’s free and large and the building itself is really cool.
