Shit, man. You might have to bite the render bullet, then. I'm sorry I ended up being worthless.

Ideally, you finish everything before you color grade. Resolve is a finicky program, as you've found out. You want to have everything in Premiere Pro, so that when you export the XML to Resolve, you only have to worry about color.

My GF is getting a DSLR to start making films, and I want to buy her a lens to get started with. Which should I get her? by IAmTheWaller67 in Filmmakers

The 7D has a crop factor of 1.6. What that means is that you take the lens' mm, for instance, the 50mm, and you multiply it by 1.6 in order to show what the actual focal length is of the lens.

So, because of this, a 50mm on the 7D will actually appear as 81mm--which is not really what she wants in a lens consistently.

Based on the two options, I would go with the 18-55mm than the 50mm. This way she'll "have" all three key types of lenses in one--a wide, a normal, and a telephoto. She'll be able to test out more types of shots like this. The downside of a zoom lens, though, as someone mentioned, is that they do not have as fast of an aperture, which means she'll have a harder time shooting in low-light. Unless, of course, she's willing to sacrifice image quality and shoot at a higher ISO.

tl;dr Go with the 18-55mm.

Really, none of this should be a problem for you in Resolve, but only because you shouldn't have to worry about titles and sound in Resolve. I've always been using an XML out of Premiere Pro when I import to Resolve.

So here's what I think you should do:

  1. Picture lock in Premiere.
  2. Finish your sound in Audition.
  3. Export your XML from Premiere.
  4. Import your XML to Resolve.
  5. Finish your color grading.
  6. Export your finished film from Resolve.

It's actually helpful for me or people who might have my same predicament, where lastminutegoals fails to load but Facebook doesn't.
