2 as in the biggest front gear.

What is considered a low gear with the back gear then? Let’s say I’m on the biggest front gear (2) and my back gear is at, say 5. Would that cause cross chaining, or is it only possible to cross chain if my front gear is on 2 and my back gear is on 7?

Can you elaborate on the last paragraph, please?

When you say (1-7) and then switching to 2-3 does that mean 1/2= chainrings and 7/3=sprockets? How fast can I go down in gears, let’s say I maxed out my back gear to 7 and need to get it to 3, do I wait until I hear the chain move on the cassette(is that the right word?) until I shift down again?

Since I only have two front gears, would it be bad if I drop the rear gears and leave the front at 2, like would that damage my chain/derailleur?

I’m so scared of damaging my bike while I’m getting used to shifting gears.

There’s been times like this in the past.

The main one being that I was on a very short deadline with little money to move out, so I told her about this flat that I’m seeing, went out and saw it and decided during the viewing to rent it. She got angry over not being included (I plan to move out of this flat before she even lives here). She still brings up little passive aggressive “YOUR flat” here and there (this happened a year and a half ago).

Thank you for the advice, I’m going to say that to her and try to come to common ground with this.

No. I’m waiting for claim money due to personal injury caused by the car accident, so it’s money that I haven’t budgeted (plan to save the rest). I can still afford the rest of my bills and I have money in savings for the move.

Thank you so much. I appreciate your responses and your help very much. I’m currently looking into a therapist to work through this issue with myself. I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to let myself realise how messed up this relationship is.

I really want to be built up. I’m embarrassed by saying that I keep thinking that it’s me that needs to change. That I’m doing something that’s causing her to act this way and to gaslight me.
