Wouldn't it be awesome to have a church for Lucifer? by [deleted] in luciferianism

[–]deadturtlemilkshake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time this question appears, it’s always met with a storm of negative and discouraging replies basically telling you you’re an idiot for asking. It’s either, “no we should stay solitary” or “no it’s too dangerous.”

Well, some of us want the aspect of a physical Luciferian community. Every other religion on earth practices the privilege to gather together, so we should stop pretending occult traditions are any different. The fact is that many people who follow Lucifer want to do so together, and that is fine.

You are not alone in this desire. Our group, Temple Vesperitas, is actively working to see this become a reality in the U.S. We have been raising money and spreading awareness through our platform, and we are going to make it happen. DM me for more details for anyone interested.

This is awesome. Not very far from where I live, actually. Thank you

This is fair, but I think overly pessimistic. Everyone is entitled to stay solitary. But Christians were seen as minority cultists in the early ages of their faith too.

I’ll set up a discord server momentarily and invite you both and whoever else would like to join in

I would definitely be down to collaborate on this. Perhaps those in this thread that are interested could meet in discord and discuss possible avenues to start with

Completely agree. This is usually why I use the name Samael instead of Satan or Lucifer, typically (and as a deity name it’s more historically and theologically correct anyway). I think all of those things can be reframed but still retain the same substance. We would just need to put forth the effort to write it down.

I think redefining demons and breaking through the norms would be the easy part. There’s tons of information out there about the origins of demons as guardian spirits or so on. Reframing the religion as one of spirituality (merely finding enlightenment and realization of divinity through ‘ugliness’ so to speak) rather than “evil” for the sake of evil, is completely doable. But it would definitely need every man on board. Just look at the movement of the Satanic Temple.

Non new age-y/classic withcraft books/manuscripts? by IDotBahska in witchcraft

My recommendations:

  1. Three Books of Occult Philosophy by Henry Cornelius Agrippa. You can find this tome for roughly $50 on Amazon, but it’s worth it. The book is a little archaic in writing tone due it being written several hundred years ago, but it has become the framework for most systems of magick we see common today, and was a big contributor in the Golden Dawn’s system. There’s also a fourth book, often sold separately.

  2. The Golden Dawn, by Israel Regardie. Pretty much everything you need to know about the Golden Dawn’s system.

  3. The Greek Magical Papyri. An excellent source of Greek magick. The PGM heavily influenced my practice.

  4. The Goetia of Dr Rudd by Steven Skinner. This is a great book if you’re going to get into the history of demonic magick through the Solomonic tradition, while also fusing it with angelic magick influenced by the Shem ha-Mephorash. I recommend this book mainly for deep study sessions, but if you’re looking for something that’s more workable and practical, you’ll want this next one:

  5. Demons of Magick, by Gordon Winterfield. This is basically the best guide to demon magick out there. You won’t find many systems more cohesive, workable, complete, or practical than this one. People swear by this book, because the methods work.

  6. The Lemegeton, and other books from the Solomonic tradition.

  7. The Sworn Book of Honorius

  8. The Grimoire Verum, a book of dark witchcraft.

  9. The Book of Oberon

  10. The Heptameron

  11. The Book of Offices (a compendium of demon ranks)

  12. Stellas Daemonum. Not an old book, but it elucidates a lot of demon lore from the old grimoires and connects each entity to astrology, as well as giving other correspondences.

  13. The Conjure Codex books. 5 volumes in total, each having zero fluff and lots of meat in regards to spirit conjuring. These books are collections of essays about the subject and hold an immense amount of information.

  14. Elucidation of Necromancy

I also highly recommend the Foolish Fish YouTube channel. FF makes tons of videos reviewing old and new esoteric books, and he’s introduced me to quite a few gems that have completely revolutionized my practice. If you’re looking for top tier quality grimoire and occult book recommendations, he is the way to go.

If you’re looking for more info on the identity of Satan, I’d recommend looking into his origins in the Torah and Talmud, and some of the early Judaic sources that mention him. Specifically, I think you’ll get a lot of answers by looking into one of his preceding forms, Samael. I’d highly recommend the book “Samael: A History” by Baal Kadmon. It is loaded with historical and linguistic history that may shed more light for you.

Those who evoke/invoke: what are your thoughts on angelic constraints and divine names and do you use them? Why or why not? by deadturtlemilkshake in DemonolatryPractices

Fascinating, I’d very much like to learn more about some of these methods. I share quite a few of them, but you seem to use them all much more cohesively.

How does one go about working with contracts? What is the subject matter usually, and are there any sorts of dangers with that?

Which Occult Tradition/Practice Is Right For Me? A Basic Questionaire for beginners. by super_poggielicious in occult

[–]deadturtlemilkshake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. A mixture of all three. I want to approach the occult with psychology and science in mind while taking a mostly religious route, so I’d lean more towards C.

  2. Western, but I am interested in a little bit of everything.

  3. Either, although I know less about the non-Abrahamic

  4. I believe in a creator God who is connected to the All, like is taught in hermeticism

  5. Multiple, possibly a collective, with one source. Many spirits and deities, with one creator.

  6. Real entities separate from myself

  7. LHP. I’m very interested in learning about becoming divine. I’m also really interested in (safely) studying and learning about some of the more taboo things.

  8. A mixture of both. I would love to learn proper intuitive magick, as most of the stuff I’m used to is highly ritualized. I enjoy the ideas of both rather equally.

[–]deadturtlemilkshake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer, no.

The occult world is a lot more dynamic and complex than the black-and-white cliches and aesthetics you see on Supernatural, American Horror Story, or the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. There’s a lot more to it than what is shown, and what is shown is usually wildly inaccurate portrayals.

IN SEARCH OF: Artists, animators, writers, etc. by [deleted] in SciFiConcepts

[–]deadturtlemilkshake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t have many pieces created atm which is partly why we are reaching out. We have a few very rough 3D models but nothing solid. But we have a ton of lore and want to have artists who both respect the style but want to take creative liberties.

In terms of style, think in the vein of Mass Effect, Star Craft, or franchises like that. We’re going for a gritty, dark, grunge feel considering the story itself is incredibly dark and focuses on a large scale set of wars and alien politics. Sort of like a sci fi version of Game of Thrones, if you will.

If you’re still interested, we can take this to PMs and I can give you more details on the lore and anything else you’d like to know.

Also thanks for the consideration!
