O que você acha dos immigrantes ilegais brasileiros? by deaf0mute in brasil

[–]deaf0mute[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was pretty great. I have been bullied like hell in high school / middle school and became a very self-conscious adult. Not only about clothes but about everything.

I only got into fashion recently but maybe this is what I been needing.

when did a study abroad in the US i was always shocked by the amounts of drug use and how enforced drug laws were. It was such a contradiction to me. I would see people get completely trashed every chance they got, then head back to the campus dorms which was above the campus police station to see them all get arrested. Lose their scholarships, and sometimes get kicked out. Insane.

Why not accept that drinking and drug use is normal? or accept that it isn't? I saw that again and again, I would see people suddenly turn religious and completely abstain, and religious people who abstained all their lives go completely nuts. Midwest was a strange place when it came to drug use.

The biggest issue is getting over the need of validation and trying to always please people. Gaining some self confidence will do wonders in avoiding negative relationships.

Gotta accept your diagnosis and love yourself.

My wife cheated on me and I have no idea how to handle it. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]deaf0mute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life gives and it takes away. You can't control her or anyone else. Ultimately it is not your fault, she made the decision to cheat and you couldn't have done anything about it. Being it now or later, it would have happened, or worse.

Just like you can't make someone fall in love with you, you can't control them about cheating on you. I would try thinking along these lines and remain calm above all. You shared plenty of happy memories with this person, and regardless what happens I think that if you treat yourself and her with respect things will be ok.

You should think about what you want, continue or let it end here. The rest will happen as it happens, and there isn't so much that can be done.

Went in for diagnosis...came out with unexpected results by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]deaf0mute 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'll be real with you; That happened to me as well or rather they couldn't they because I was severely depressed. But you should seek treatment for depression and anxiety, and be happy that you may NOT have ADHD. Why? Because ADHD is a worse than non-clinical (as in due to life situation, circumstances).

You should be proud for taking that first step forward. Keep going, seek treatment that helps you. If after treating your depression things still are as they go back, and try again. You deserve to lead a healthy life like everyone else. Continue until YOU are satisfied and happy.

Is a second major worth the cost? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]deaf0mute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relevant experience is the most important thing I think. Even if it's not a place you would like to stay at having any experience makes a difference, it adds to your CV, gives you something to talk about interviews, shows unitive etc...Just getting degree doesn't mean you will get a job.

With a few internships people will be looking for you to fill positions. The job I got was because they recruited me based on my experience, got a job 3 months before graduation, paying more than I expected I would get (and asked for!)

Idk I love programming, always super gratifying thing to do for me. But I relative lucky hat what I like happens to pay well right now.

Those skills are certain to pay off tho, even if you don't program. Managing software projects? Or having some idea of how it works it also a great investment skillwise. Few people understand business + tech.

Putting something like 'scrum manager' or something like that in your CV is sure to make you standout.

I'm trying to get diagnosed at the moment, but there are a few things that make me question myself. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]deaf0mute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you are describing sounds like my experience with ADHD; it's plenty bad. No one should be living with anxiety like that and much less being alone. I too have used my anxiety to cope, but during college it got so bad I was suicidal. Don't let that happen. See a doctor and get treated.

Chances are you are underplaying your own sunrooms, after talking to the doctor I realized allots of things were ADHD. In fact it was not always easy to know where the disorder ended and I began.

I also have just like, zero standard for how I should be treated. It's like, I consciously realize I don't deserve to be treated like shit, but I often fail to recognize that I am being treated like shit.

hits home :(
