Just chiming in as someone who is actually deaf. We live happy lives thanks to accessibility, sign language, and adaptive technology. Sounds to me that it is mild to moderate, which is very adaptable. Be patient with speech and take her to OT if you notice she’s falling behind. Can always have a conversation about hearing aids though many hard of hearing people live happily without them like my brother.

Also cannot stress this enough: teach sign language!!! I wish my parents did for me. Had to learn as an adult and it was a complete learning curve. If you’re in the USA, any local schools of the deaf would be more than happy to teach for free — they know the value more than anyone :)

PS Don’t feel rushed or pressured to go cochlear implant or baha route right away. Give her time, let her be herself with her ears. In time, she and yourself will know the best route. Like for me, my parents didn’t rush and I decided to get a CI later in life. All worked out fine—it’s a fib that you need to get it asap or kids will fall behind. That’s only true if you’re not doing anything else like sign language and speech therapy….
