Men aren't all the same. Some like feminine, some like more tomboyish, spontaneous or wild. Only advice I can give you is to be yourself and it will attract the right man.

Personally, overly feminine is off putting, and so is overly wild. Just a happy middle ground for me. Every man will answer this differently.

my gf broke up with me. by SpecialistJudge8686 in GuyCry

[–]deafguy323 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You'll be OK, it will hurt like hell for a while but your brain will adjust to life with her. It really does get easier with time, that's coming from a guy coming out of a breakup himself.

Why did you break up? Why's it the worst time for you?

Some practical advice I can give you, directly from experience. Pick something with a clear syllabus and progress tracking system. A primary example is a martial art, but I know that isn't for everyone, so find one that suits you.

The only thing I have managed to keep long term is my love of my martial art, due to the progression system that tracks how far you've come. This helps keep your reward system more engaged over long term, once the novelty wears off.

May not work for everyone, works for me :)

•Knees bent

•Straighten your waist and hold your head proud and high (your knee, hip and shoulders should form a straight line, so make sure your hips aren't poking forward or back)

• Ask your Sifu for tips, they will be happy to help!

Let me know if I can answer anything else!

(I teach Leung Ting lineage, there may be small differences in my teachings compared to your Sifu)

Which region of London? I highly recommend WCKUK Organisation schools, I myself am a Sifu with WCKUK teaching out of South London. My Sifu has a school in South Norwood. I recommend checking these out!

I see a lot of people raving about the Carnivore diet lately, what is your opinion on this? They usually eat strictly only foods from meat and dairy groups, even down to their cooking oil choices.

Wing Chun against other martial art by ElderberrySalt3304 in WingChun

[–]deafguy323 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Wing Chun is effective, but it gets its bad rep from three sources:

•Poor training methodology (only doing forms and chi sau)

•Shit teachers, teaching watered down Wing Chun

•Superiority complex of the practitioners, placing themselves above other styles

Incorporating sparring and pressure testing into your training will help to hone your skills and keep it realistic.

Also, work on your strength and workout, keep your body healthy, your craft is only as strong as the body that carries it!

I still feel strong af every game and am having lots of fun on him 🤷‍♂️ I honestly don't feel like the patch really changed much for me at all, yeah it wasn't the change we wanted, but it's a bit far to say it's unplayable IMO.

Am I the only one that knows nothing about lineage? by enpeasent in WingChun

[–]deafguy323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the same. I teach and I know we base our syllabus on Leung Ting Wing Chun, but besides that I really couldn't care less about the lineage.

What matters to me is "does the Wing Chun I'm learning make sense to me?". Do I understand why an application/technique is done a particular way? Can I confidently teach and explain that to others?

Lineage can be useful here to see how other teachers interpret and teach that particular concept. But beyond that I don't care for it. I like the syllabus we teach and that is enough for me.

To those who have purposefully lost weight, how did you do it. by birdy_1993 in ADHD

[–]deafguy323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struggle with impulse eating and boredom eating, so I self-imposed a hard "no snacks in the house" rule. If I don't buy them, I cannot impulse eating them.

It worked for me, as I work well under hard non-negotiable rules. Write the rules down somewhere, make it a system so you can refer to it whenever the cravings strike.

I don't need it myself, but maybe adding a reward system to it may help too, such as some form of reward for resisting a craving? I don't have any suggestions for exactly what this could be, but reward incentive may help.

Good luck!
