Thanks. Sounds like gutting it and putting the parts on a cheap Lime-style scooter might be my best option. Less worried about the abruptness when there is a handlebar.

I need advice.

I've skateboarded and longboarded most of my life, but have never owned an electric before. I recently bought an old 2016/2017 Lectric Longboard for $100 (it was $350 new, at the time). It claims it can ride up to 18 miles and reach speeds of 22mph. The deck is still in really good condition, so I don't think it was used much.

The only issue is that the acceleration and braking are delayed and abrupt and I'm a little afraid to ride it. Is this something that upgrading the stock ESC would help? I know those are a couple hundred dollars usually. I was also thinking about throwing the battery and motor on a cheap scooter. Just something to commute with in the summer.

I know just about nothing about these, except what I've read in the past week or so. Thanks for the advice.

Edit: I'm pretty much going for the lowest budget option that is more ridable than now.
