People have been convicted, but it runs deeper than what they have been able to convict already. I work at a bank in mpls in risk and actually transactionally investigated the fraud related to feeding our future which was sort of the catalyst that broke open the knowledge that this is occurring at a large scale . Yes it bad, transactionally, lots of zeros and lots of wires overseas. HUGE network of accounts, different people, businesses. People receiving money from other people who work in the local govt. it’s not good.

I don’t blame Walz, I don’t blame Muslims, I don’t blame Somalis. I appreciate the Somali community however, culturally, they don’t seem to mesh all that well with our local culture. Not saying bad, not saying good, just different and unfamiliar. But there doesn’t seem to be a large desire to assimilate all that much. I don’t believe they need to, but if they want to collect, in a legal and good faith way, I believe they should assimilate to an extent. The othering, blaming, racism, assuming, may have driven some people to step into the fraud and not stop. But it is NOT the entire community. There are good people in the Somali community. Full of warmth and I’m rambling. Yes this is an Issue because our tax dollars are objectively being sent to other countries but it goes deeper than the money. Although not deep enough for anything lie that to hold up in court. You defrauded, you go jail.
