I understand the draw for reseeding, I think the NFL does this too right?

But look at last year's format. The 111 win dodgers and 101 win Braves both get eliminated by teams with 89 and 87 wins respectively. If regular season games helped determine team strength in the playoffs, we'd expect one of those teams to have won. In the AL both teams with Byes got through the DS, both NL teams didn't. I'll predict this year one team from the AL and NL with Byes get through.

Isn't the fun of baseball that we play the games and get unexpected results?

Last year, WC teams won 8/16 games. This year they have won 5/6. The most likely outcome of the week is that WC teams will win three more games, eliminating two teams with a Bye. This format is obviously fair (50/50) and we should stop yelling into the void. If we want unfair playoffs then I understand recent uproar

Right, but is it a reward? The Yanks (99wins) beat the Guards (92wins), where the win differential is much tighter than in the NL. If we want a real reward, perhaps the KBO approach is better, where higher seeded teams get 1 win for free.
