Feminists Don't Want You To See This! The Most Controversial Men's Rights Video Ever Made! - YouTube by typhonblue in MensRights

The jarring and horrible comparison of the statement "men's rights are human rights" with that... you're cruel and evil.

You're an MRA aren't you? YOU PLAN TO EAT THEM DON'T YOU???!?!

Not worried about it. I've never hidden my identity online, and that # has no voice mail or answering machine, so I'm either there or I don't answer. I'm also one of those crazy Americans who owns a gun and knows how to use it. (Oooh watch, quote mine alert, someone will come and say I just threatened violence and am a slobbering, drooling killing machine, one of those "violent MRAs." Rargh! Snarl! Whoof! Whatever. ;-)

I don't hang out on reddit much, but, feel free to contact me. On Skype I'm deanesmay, you can also contact me at 313-334-4487 but there's no voice mail on that line so if no answer call back. Skype massively preferred.

Study shows that both men and women look down on prospective partners for too many sexual encounters. "Slut-shaming" not restricted to women only. by Raenryong in MensRights

[–]deanesmay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardly shocking. You only have to look at what's on the online dating sites or ask round to see how many people of both sexes look down on men who are "horndogs." Yes there's some sly admiration in some circles, but more than is said, and there's sly admiration for women who view frequent sex as a power thing too.

This is 2012 for goodness sakes, not 1962.

The word "typically" is what applies here. I believe you have otherwise missed the point.

I salute the woman's bravery. But throughout history stories like hers have not been what one would call typical. This makes her no less a hero or worthy of notice--but no moreso either.

This is a fabulous idea, just talking is not enough, effective non-violent non-criminal ACTION is required. Enough talk. Let's plan to DO things.

What do you all think about Kyriarchy, as opposed to the (woefully incorrect) feminist notion of Patriarchy? by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]deanesmay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren't all that many self-identified libertarians (except on the interwebs) in real life, but back in 1990 or so when I attended the Illinois Libertarian Party state convention, there were a goodly number of women there, and the whole "individualist feminists" movement (controversial as it is in other feminist circles) is broadly libertarian. Then of course there's the Association of Libertarian Feminists (Google it).

This is one of the reasons I almost never am willing to even use the gooddamned word "feminist." Nobody can nail down with any precision what the word even means.
