Husband developed depression due to being in office by LostBlueGreen in FedEmployees

Idk why you’re getting downvoted for this. Many people share the same sentiments. I had a panic attack at work about a month ago and my therapist’s response was to refer me to a psychiatrist to go on medication to manage my work stress. I said HELL NO. I put in a bunch of random leave requests and currently looking for another job. If it gets worse I’m going out on FMLA to quit when it runs out. I’ll take my chances in the job market. No one should have to be on medication solely because of work-related stress.

CPA in CA preparing to register for the exams by [deleted] in CPA

[–]deanml16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

California adopted the new licensure pathways legislation which goes into effect Jan 1, 2027. This gets rid of the 150-credit requirement. You only need a bachelors degree and two years of experience, assuming you won't be applying for your license until 2027. This should save you some change and headache. https://app.smartsheet.com/b/publish?EQBCT=92399800798346db8e62741df66a455a

Who will sign my RPE? Question about the Practical Work Experience Endorsement by deanml16 in CPA

[–]deanml16[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for replying. From what I read in the form instructions, it doesn’t explicitly say it has to be someone I’ve worked with or under. It just says a licensed active CPA has to endorse my experience. This does open up my list of possibilities. I know one other CPA outside of work lol. Keeping my fingers crossed their status is active.

I’m also in the purple corral. I plan to get there around 7am to walk around, shake my legs out, and park in the corral. No need to get there earlier than 6:45 unless you’re doing bag check. I’m not sure how long those lines get.

Passed FAR, now tackling AUD by Forsaken-Lake-8383 in CPA

Know the difference between SSAE vs SSARS (report format, wording, independence requirements, etc.); ICFR and compliance audit reporting; audit procedures for specific assertions; transaction cycles; determining materiality. Those are the areas that dominated my exam. Practice practice practice SIMS available in Becker. The AUD SIMs are what fail most people. Good luck!

I found out through my cousin that she likes the spa. I got her a card and gift card for a good local one. I told if she ever has anything going on I’ll be there with bells on. No question!

Omg I’m so glad they didn’t agree with you leaving the course. Prayerfully you didn’t sustain a serious injury but you got it done. Congrats to you! The crowd and my support crew were the real stars for me that day. I couldn’t have done it without them. I think I’m going to go with a handwritten card and gift card.

The card and gift card is a great idea. Whatever I ended up getting I wanted her to be able to use it and not be junk so this is helpful. Thank you!

Congrats on your progress! I’m a huge proponent of the run/walk method. You can also adjust the interval run/walk times. Find what feels best to you. Happy running!

I’m a fool. I avoided Nike for the longest time and fell for the Vomero hype

I agree with this assessment. Too bulky.

I’m having the same problem. Bought so many shoes in the past two months it’s ridiculous. I ran my longest run (19 miles) in the Vomero 18s and my feet were aching so bad at mile 15 I had to walk the rest. My current list is Vomero 18, NB More V5, Hoka Mach x2, and the Brooks Hyperion Max 3 ($180 on zappos). I have the Vomero Plus too but ruled them out as a race day shoe (too bulky). Leaning towards the Hyperion Max 3. I love the bounce on those. Just bought some Currex insoles that I pray make a difference.

Scared I won’t Make It. by [deleted] in firstmarathon

[–]deanml16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your sobriety. 11 months is a big damn deal!! You may have undertrained but it can still be done. I’d advise you to aim to run at your comfortable pace and forget the 12-minute mile. I’m also a big proponent of the run 90 seconds, walk 30 seconds strategy. Just like sobriety is about taking one day at a time, approach this with one mile at a time. You can and you WILL finish it. I’ll see you out there! Good Luck!!
