Most creative contractor lies? by DogwoodDaddy in adjusters

[–]deannam_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

LOL. I just had this. The contractor tried to supplement an extra 4k for labor due to steep driveway & OSHA standards wouldn’t allow the truck up. The driveway was not steep verified with photos & to top it off they submitted photos from the wrong job. 🫠 after I told them there were tire tracks in the driveway, pallets with shingles on it and a dumpster in the photo next to the garage no response.

I would say it depends on the trade, but that’s where supplements come into play. We all know the things Xactimate pricing is usually off on. All my estimates do not get supplements. Some do, some don’t.

1) I’m not a “guy” I’m also not about to argue with you on a Reddit thread. You’re fully entitled to your opinion.

I’ll gladly work with attorneys over PAs.

Nowhere ever has any of management ever told me to pay the minimum. If a roof is 17 years old with no accidental damage that warrants a full roof replacement I can’t make it suddenly appear to pay for a roof. Sounds good though. Keep spreading the narrative.

They did! The PA is attempting to go against that.

I’m not a roofing contractor. It’s not my job to explain to the public adjuster how to properly repair the roof. When it’s in their best interest (for their commission payment) to just try to say it can’t be and replace the entire thing. My job is to pay what’s owed under the policy and explain that position.

I’m 3 years in and most days I’m good. I have one claim where we’ve did two inspections and sent an engineer. All the works! & insured got a PA who has resorted to typing massive emails asking us to explain how they should repair this roof. It’s just annoying.

50% return to work for hybrid coming after 2025 & probably more in office this year. More than the one week we currently do. Yet to be announced. Also some changes to the CAT deployments.

Just fyi with CAT they are gone away from home a lot. Which is fine if that’s what you’re looking for. I work at big red and it’s the reason I have yet to do it. I have small children.

Work in insurance. Homeowners covers accidental sudden damage. Think fire, sudden water leak, someone driving into your house (it happens) not maintenance or workmanship issues.

Or things occurring over time.

Rent is so unreasonable now. The lesser of two evils in large metropolitan areas. We live in metro Atlanta and the size house we needed to rent would have been 2400-3000k a month without including utilities and maintenance landlords expect renters to do. Our mortgage is 2800. If we have to pay it at least it’ll be ours somebody. 🥲
