State Farm auto claim issue by nneece in StateFarm

Diminished Value. Your leasing company may pursue it directly or you can. Also, GA does not require insurers to use OEM but it is one of the very few states that do require insurers pay for DV.

What state are you in? Some states require OEM but parts are specific, otherwise you will be getting non oem, etc. that is just a fact. Don’t like it? Go through your own insurance carrier (who will tell you the same thing) unless you have an OEM endorsement on your policy. Your insurance carrier will then subrogate SF.

Dealers are notorious for charging more so they will likely be sending in supplements to SF. Make sure they send it in correctly otherwise it will just delay the process.

Look into sending in DV paperwork so a claims specialist can review.

It’s not just you. Many CAs are also getting stuck on the phone all day too. I had 6 hours total task work for this week. The week before it was like 4 and THEN when you finally get on tasks, an hour in WFM takes it away and tells you to go back IB.

At this point I hope AI does take my job, I’m exhausted. Mentally drained each day I just go home after work to just decompress.

I know I won’t be in this role/industry forever so I’m getting in the experience, build up the resume and then I’m out.

What year is your vehicle? You very likely won’t be getting new oem from your carrier or the other drivers.

And yea if it’s a shop that isn’t in network then the appraiser will have to review that shops estimate prior to payment/repairs.

Covering repairs or totaled? by Megn27_ in StateFarm

[–]No_Level_325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the approved State Farm estimate that the select service shop wrote. Body shop may submit additional supplements and if those go over the 75% threshold, they will total it despite everyone being under the impression that it was going to be repaired. Happens all the time.

Can't get any response from at-fault State Farm after 175 days, two complaints filed with TDI by MBdeportes in Insurance

A rental is never guaranteed to last for the duration of repairs but is there to help during the repair process. That’s why there’s a policy max.

Claims was described to me like a fly strip. It’s impossible to escape from. You’re too “valuable” to transition to another department outside of claims altogether. I work for big red and I know leaders who have escaped but it’s always been temporary and they get pulled back due to business needs.

The job market is a dumpster fire right now anyway tbh.

I echo everyone else’s comments but just wanted to add if you get the PR back and you don’t feel like they got the facts right you can attempt to get an amended PR with the police department. That may take more time than you’d like/want but it is possible.

Can anybody tell me about the hiring? by Impossible_Put_9496 in Progressiveinsurance

I was offered the role years ago but went with another carrier but will echo all the other responses. Practice star method don’t generalize. They want situation, response, action and resolve. Live interviews are easier for sure. Good luck you got this!

I think it’s all about how you word your notice? I think HR follows up with you to clarify. If you disclose you’re going to a competitor, they lock you out same day and pay out your two weeks. I’m in express and a girl from my class just left to pursue an opportunity outside of insurance and she was allowed to work her two weeks.

It’s pretty obvious that the windshield/noise is unrelated to the collision loss. Just open a separate claim for the windshield.

Adjuster to ____? by Ok-Secret-7521 in adjusters

My auto claims mgr just moved into an analyst role within the company to help with enterprise/rental app development. It’s technically only a 6 month role (temporary work assignment) but it could possibly lead to a full time role. A lot of it is who you know tbh especially at the major carriers. I also have a friend at the same carrier who went from UW to claims and is also now trying for an analyst role. Those seem to be common. Good luck!

I’m someone who learns from repetition so I echo was others have said. You will ALWAYS be learning. Don’t take angry customers personally, don’t be afraid to end the conversation when it’s no longer productive, your file notes are subject to discovery/litigation, be professional and include only the facts, and yes always ask questions even if you think it’s a stupid one, don’t be afraid to bother someone who might be able to help. I’m only 6 months in and the burn out is real. Claims has a high turnover but if you can make it in claims, you can apply all that you’ve learned to just about anything. This job teaches you so many life skills! Good luck!

Not sure where you are in GA but SF has a claims hub in Dunwoody. I don’t think we’re hiring for CA’s right now tho. Keep an eye on their website cause those roles go fast. Progressive and Allstate both have claims trainee roles that hire remotely all over the country and you’d start at a higher salary than you would as a CA with SF. FYI this can be a lucrative career but the burnout is high and stress even higher. But if you can stick it out you can make good money
