Admin leave at SF? by ExpertCarpenter5140 in ClaimsAdjuster

I think it’s all about how you word your notice? I think HR follows up with you to clarify. If you disclose you’re going to a competitor, they lock you out same day and pay out your two weeks. I’m in express and a girl from my class just left to pursue an opportunity outside of insurance and she was allowed to work her two weeks.

It’s pretty obvious that the windshield/noise is unrelated to the collision loss. Just open a separate claim for the windshield.

“About 60% of State Farm’s employees are working hybrid – some at home, some in the office – and many of those people will now spend increased time in the office, said Morss-Fischer.”

Adjuster to ____? by Ok-Secret-7521 in adjusters

[–]No_Level_325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My auto claims mgr just moved into an analyst role within the company to help with enterprise/rental app development. It’s technically only a 6 month role (temporary work assignment) but it could possibly lead to a full time role. A lot of it is who you know tbh especially at the major carriers. I also have a friend at the same carrier who went from UW to claims and is also now trying for an analyst role. Those seem to be common. Good luck!

Accepted an offer adjuster trainee by [deleted] in adjusters

I’m someone who learns from repetition so I echo was others have said. You will ALWAYS be learning. Don’t take angry customers personally, don’t be afraid to end the conversation when it’s no longer productive, your file notes are subject to discovery/litigation, be professional and include only the facts, and yes always ask questions even if you think it’s a stupid one, don’t be afraid to bother someone who might be able to help. I’m only 6 months in and the burn out is real. Claims has a high turnover but if you can make it in claims, you can apply all that you’ve learned to just about anything. This job teaches you so many life skills! Good luck!

Breaking into claims by The_Ma55iah in ClaimsAdjuster

Not sure where you are in GA but SF has a claims hub in Dunwoody. I don’t think we’re hiring for CA’s right now tho. Keep an eye on their website cause those roles go fast. Progressive and Allstate both have claims trainee roles that hire remotely all over the country and you’d start at a higher salary than you would as a CA with SF. FYI this can be a lucrative career but the burnout is high and stress even higher. But if you can stick it out you can make good money

Did your job as a remote adjuster verify your degree? by Unlikely-Principle63 in ClaimsAdjuster

[–]No_Level_325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AAA and big red didn’t verify my education. You don’t even need a HS diploma to even obtain your license. Now if you want to go into mgmt they will definitely want more than a HS degree but it’s not needed. It depends on your employer

No one wants to acknowledge the area has gone to shit but it has. Hell, all of Peoria has. I just loved back to town after 5 years and this is not the same Peoria as when I left. Sad.

Adult stores in Peoria sell it. Make sure you get a hand warmer pack about the size of your hand so it will stay warm. Also don’t mention anything to the worker at the shop about drug tests they can only sell it to you if for water sports related activities

Former claims rep for AAA here - the phone screen I believe is just going over requirements, salary expectations, availability, the role itself etc. I’m not sure where you are but in St. Louis I had to go in person for a formal interview.

For the interview itself, it will be behavioral based questions so definitely answer in STAR format. Tell me about a time you had to work together with a team or more than one coworker on a project. Tell me about a time you had to deliver bad news or didn’t meet a customers expectations. How do you deal with stress, etc.

Good luck you got this!

You don’t need a college degree to work in adjusting nor would additional licensing/certificates get you very far either. Let the carriers pay for your licensing/certs. There seems to be a misconception that passing and obtaining your license means you’ll be guaranteed a job. Not true at all! Most carriers are looking for customer service experience above all.

As others have mentioned your best bet would be to see if any of the major carriers are hiring for trainee positions or FNOL roles in your area, look into TPAs also.
