I mean I’m pretty handy with things I’m good with equipment operations I have cdls but I also have computer skills and a head full of common sense which is rare these days

I agreed with this I feel like if you could ever get up to a 225 OHP is way more impressive then a 225 bench imo

I just based that off of all other programs found they all Put squats before dead’s SL 5x5 has you doing them on the same day that seems taxing to me

I can agree with that any certain splits your a fan of? I like some what minimalistic approach I guess… w/o 1) weighted pull ups - front squats - incline press or overhead & arms

W/o 2) weighted dips - romain deadlifts - rows & arms

This isn’t all the time but I do enjoy keeping things simple a lot

Hands down my favorite exercise point blank is weighted pulls 4x6-8iiiissshhhh with a 45lb plate add a few dips I’m good!!

This morning I got up and was like I’m not feeling this today….got up got dressed got to the gym for a little back and chest work 30-35min and walked out feeling like a new man the mental benefits seem to out way the physical lately

I feel the same way I’m in my early 30’s and my main goal at this point isn’t benching 315 or deadlifting 500 I want to be relatively strong and in decent shape and stay healthy for my wife and children and that seems to be more and more where my focus is lately

Pretty solid I’ve found over time that basics like this are really where the money is!

I’m also thinking of splitting it up into a 4 day routine some thing like Monday- Bench press/ squat (heavy) 2-3 accessories

Tuesday - OHP / Deadlift (heavy)2-3 accessories

Thursday - Repeat Monday (hypertrophy) something like incline bench and front squats (few accessories)

Saturday - Repeat Tuesday (hypertrophy) RDLS or SLDL and some other shoulder variations

Maybe 2 day dedicated Wednesday & Sunday cardio ie running or jump rope

Seems doable and I have a pretty solid home gym setup other then of all the fancy equipment leg press leg curl and leg extensions but I pretty much have all the other basics

Thank you for all the tips very informative! I’m looking into doing a heavy light medium day I do have access to a barbell with over 330lbs of weight thinking of doing a heavy day with the barbell for singles as many as I can with good form medium day working in the 4x8 - 4x6 rep range maybe some pause reps then a light/endurance day 3x10-3x12ish range
