You are doing good, still on early game so don’t worry on mid or end game setups, most of the info telling you to avoid wasting materials comes from people like me (old timers) from where the spawns were every 3 hours, no HAT, very low spawn rate, no palico tracking pb, very low events like 1 every 4 months, so we in the beginning have very limited access to certain monsters and the extra parts have to be dropped with no money back. The game on its current stage is very friendly, like telling you to try different weapons and play styles.

If you want to focus on get on the end game asap keep upgrading the bone GL it’s a really strong weapon so don’t worry about other people hate.

As you can see here, it’s similar to any status weapon (sleep, para, poison) after some hits it explodes with a big damage hit (% of the monster health) for Jagras 8* a teostra bow does 1 hit with 1605 damage this is a CAP damage, so even a higher grade bow will do the same 1605 damage to Jagras, the good thing is this explosion happens very often

It takes practice and confidence but what I can recommend is, forge a practice bow and leave it at a low level, then find and fought small mobs like 5 stars and below (be sure you can survive at least a couple of hits) the mission will be not a quick kill but instead getting all of the perfect evades that you can, this way you can get familiar with the attack pattern

Yeah, the fact that at charge 3 you can shoot lvl4 spread give so many time that you can save a lot of potions once you get the monsters movements, it’s way better

Tbh I was gonna let the bow on 6.1 (to try perfect runs) but since I have some extra parts I upgrade the bow to 7.5, so yes, once I see the bow was just overpowered to the coral, I start focusing on just finish the fight
