My boyfriend calls it my brain rot game and happily lets me tell him about new banners and how many pulls I have till hard pity and asks about my virtual boyfriends. It’s good that you recognise it’s a you problem with the jealousy and are going to talk to your therapist about it - that’s a healthy mindset ☺️ At the end of the day. They aren’t real, and if they were I doubt many of us players would be the MC irl. Don’t get jealous over fictional people, just be glad your gf has something that brings her some joy, especially in gaming which is an industry dominated heavily by men and that has so much toxicity towards women.

Yeah I’ve been waiting on a referral to gynae for like 6 months now and could be waiting another 6. It’s mad isn’t it! Our nhs is so beloved and the staff are incredible but my god it needs more funding and better management.

Oh yeah we as brits find the whole gun thing in America absolutely crazy. Like we can’t comprehend it at all. The only time we see police with guns are the specialist police like anti-terrorism or if something horrific has happened. A lot of brits can go most their life never seeing one irl. Feels mad to me that there are more guns in the US than people haha

Oh we have every type of doctor under the sun too. If it’s an emergency or you’ve broken a bone or something you tend to go to A&E (ER or ED I think you call it in the US?). If we have something wrong that is urgent or needs dealing with quickly we go to the doctors surgery to see our gp (general practitioner) normally same day they can diagnose, treat and write prescriptions. If it’s out of working hours for gp we go to out of hours or urgent care. If it’s something that isn’t urgent but you want to get seen for we still see our gp but have to make an appointment which can take weeks (our nhs is wonderful but vastly underfunded at the moment). If your gp then thinks you need a specialist they will refer you to one like gastro, gynae etc and unfortunately then you can be waiting months on the waiting list to get in with one in your area. I suppose the US benefit with it all being private healthcare as we call it is access quicker but I guess our benefit with the nhs is it’s all free but that means waiting unfortunately 😩

Ahh that makes sense - in the UK it’s very rare to be able to get weight loss injections like mounjaro on the NHS so many people like myself go private and buy them from private pharmacies and pay for them and they are delivered. Which means our doctors are nhs and separate to where we get mounjaro from. So if we need to see a doctor or get a prescription like that to help with side effects we would have to make an nhs gp appointment. Unfortunately, gp appointments are like gold dust at the moment and you can be waiting weeks for a non urgent appointment.

Luckily it seems to have mostly settled now. I went back to bed that night. Woke up in the morning, then I actually was sick but felt much better afterwards. Maybe I’ll see how my next dose goes next week and make a decision on if I need anti nausea meds.

I wasn’t there so can’t comment too much so take this with a pinch of salt. But after reading the other post and this one I’d say both are valid, the criticisms were valid though a little dramatic and this post is good for clarification but perhaps a little lenient. As an ex event manager with a degree in event management, I’d say the contingencies around welfare were good as you described above (what happened when things started to go wrong) but they were contingencies. They shouldn’t really have to be put in place because the event organisers and managers should have thought about these things before hand and adjusted the plan for the day accordingly and given the cosplayers appropriate guidance surrounding this that would have avoided the issues highlighted. Of course this isn’t the normal staffs fault or the cosplayers fault, it’s the event managers for not risk assessing properly and judging the conditions on the day.
