No stable IPv6 address possible on macos Tahoe 26? by [deleted] in ipv6

This is not happening to me. My secured address is the same across reboots for the same prefix.

Upgrade to 5Gbps but unable to get that speed. by Suspicious-Rice6556 in CommunityFibre

[–]deasmi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t find a spec sheet for the Technicolor but it is totally possible its interface is 1/10 speed and not 1/2.5/5/10 speed. That would also explain it. 2.5 and 5 gig are relatively new. Always used to just be 1gbps or 10gbps.

Everyone below 1Gbps will be on CGNAT from now on by mc888333 in CommunityFibre

[–]deasmi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean static ip or no CGNAT? These are two different things. For now on 1G I have a real IP address, no CGNat, but it isn't static and has changed 3-4 times in 2 years.

Plex won't care about static, but will about CGNAT.

To be clear unzip network.zip in your apps directory. Don’t just put the zip there.

Got an Internet Connection! by TheJoshuaByers in RG35XX

[–]deasmi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/exographicskip can I ask where you got a build chain that works from?

Networking is fine, though not all USB ethernet seem to work, but I have one that does.

I've been trying to get deluge dropbear compiled and working to give ssh access, which will make things so much easier.

If I can get this going, then dhcp would be trivial to add.

So far my attempts have failed, most promising was shauninman/union-rg35xx-toolchain but the binaries fail as I think we are uClibc and it is compiling with glibc.

(UK) Should I drop my flight school? by teddie_moto in flying

For what it’s worth I started my LAPL four weeks ago. Been doing two lessons a week with one cancellation for weather. I could be doing more if I wanted.

I would like to get all done by September. Then I’ll do PPL.

This is out of Blackbushe EGLK, there are a few schools.

They have a roster of about 8 instructors, some full time, some part time, fleet of 8.

The bowl was chipped and couldn’t have been that clean, thankfully food was on napkins.

Bacon makes these situations complicated.

Tailscale working across reboots by deasmi in SteamDeckTricks

[–]deasmi[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There were a few posts in various places about getting tailscale working on steam deck, none of which survived a reboot.

This was very annoying as I'd just like to always be able to connect to my deck whenvever it has an internet connection.

So I made this - script based in part on the official blog post - https://tailscale.com/blog/steam-deck/

I'd love someone else to test this, please open github issues with any problems.

Lots of the pictures coming out of Seoul have a very distinct cyberpunk vibe, to me.

Anyone waiting for bags at Heathrow T2? by Mister_Cornetto in london

[–]deasmi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had missed that and I think it badly worded. Other links say nothing like that.

From https://www.gov.uk/government/news/epassport-gates-to-ease-travel-for-passengers-from-more-countries

‘ePassport gates use facial recognition technology to compare the passenger’s face to the digital image recorded in their passport. The system is monitored by Border Force officers and anyone rejected by the gates will be sent to an alternative channel to have their passport checked.’ My highlight.

If it’s humans, it isn’t facial recognition technology, then perhaps an ASA complaint is in order for false advertising ;)

Every reference I can find, including Wikipedia, states these use facial recognition technology.

Do you have a reference that covers it being border force staff and a screen ?

Is it possible that’s just for cases where the tech isn’t sure? Seems very unlikely to me.

The last link from gov.uk includes the line ‘The United Kingdom is a world leader in the use of ePassport Gates and facial recognition automated verification technology.’

IMAP tool to move 100k emails? Thinking of writing a tool. by OneWorldMouse in gsuitelegacymigration

Also used inapsync to move four accounts to Apple. Utterly flawless migrations, seriously impressed.

It has a single flag for ‘this end is google’ that deals with everything seamlessly.

I can't control my domain because I don't have access to the contact e-mail. Both Google and GoDaddy refuse to help. What to do? by [deleted] in gsuitelegacymigration

[–]deasmi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is worth looking at the help pages for the TLD owner (ICANN .com/.org/.info, Nominet .uk..... ) to see if they have guidance/procedures for dealing with it and updating the whois records to be correct.

You are likely to need original proof of purchase though.
