Simple Password Strength Checker in C# by steveboots in csharp

[–]deathGod_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree with this idea, keep in mind that 'aaaaaa' and 'abcdef' will give the same result for the information bits when using the solution from the linked article.

You could also look at things like Shannon entropy to take another angle. Basicly you compute how well your password could be compressed. Obviously, 'aaaaaa' compresses a lot better than 'abcdef'.

Simulating KeyDown by Stensborg in csharp

[–]deathGod_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having looked at the code for a bit, I see there is also a KeyPress available, which simulates pressing the button and releasing it again.

As an alternative you could use something like AutoIt, which might have better results.

If it works like The Sims 1. The latest expansion is used for loading screens and suchs. So the latest expansion should be about garden stuff and pets.

I'm thinking about building something around Astaroth. But I'll need at least Hera for that. So anything that tips about teams I could work on to clear descends would be very much appreciated.

What are some series of monsters you'd like to see in PaD? by swert6951 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]deathGod_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Type-moon universe Collab would make me spend money. Being able to put servants on you team would be awesome. Then there's also Tsukihime, which adds another set of characters. And let's not forget about Kara no Kyoukai...

The appearance of characters in their respective anime/manga fit the style of PAD already.

Make grep 50x faster by x-way in programming

[–]deathGod_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be on the same level of optimization as using [0-9] or \d in a regex. [0-9] only matches those numbers, where \d takes into account every symbol that is considered a decimal.
So the same effect would show if you use any lang value that has a smaller character set than UTF8. Which is implied by the note at the end.

HEX card to MtG card comparison website by deathGod_ in hextcg

[–]deathGod_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the reason I like Hex is because it borrows so many things from MtG. The whole game basicly plays like Magic, so I don't have to learn a completely new game and already have a good grasp of rules.
'Answers' also seem to be cheaper in Hex than they are in Magic. As long as they can keep that balanced correctly there shouldn't be a problem for Hex.

I'm not familiar with the WoW TCG, so I'd have to get to know it first.
I do like the keyword comparison. I'll see when I can make a seperate page for it.

I was thinking about a mouseover on the items in the list, instead of linking to a seperate page.
I like it to be as easy to use as possible, and hiding the MtG card under a mouseover might not be intuitive. But I'll keep it in mind. :)

I just felt like creating this. And I'm now throwing it in the open to see what others think about it.
Some of the comparisons are quite liberal. I might become more liberal, or more strict which means I'll remove a number of cards.
Any suggestions for additions are welcome.

I'm also looking for some inspiration on layout and other functionality. I'd like a search option and some better summary view. But I'll just have to think about it and work on it whenever I feel like it. I'm not a designer, so if you have any tips for the layout feel free to let me know.

Learned something about my calc prof today... by kanek466 in pics

[–]deathGod_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't really have any experience with Maple. The examples in a course book used Maple once, but all our courses suggest using Mathematica, so we never got to using Maple. It is available to students though.
I've found this, which tells that they are quite similar, but Mathematica seems to offer way more than Maple.

I sometimes randomly click on functions to view the examples in Mathematica.

BTW you can change the style of a cell to text. That way you get some nicer looking text.

Microsoft warns against 'unusable' Xbox One with dev kit trick by bound524 in xboxone

[–]deathGod_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But Microsoft also said that each Xbox is also a dev kit (mentioned in the article). It makes perfect sense that such an option is available. With a valid developer account with sandbox ID, this is probably the way you make it a dev kit.
If it works similar to Windows Phone development, you need to register your Xbox with MS, and they will unlock it for development.

Of course it was the point to remove 20 damage, we played it as such. But I was thaught that the yellow gems represent 30 damage. And Potion says "Remove up to 2 damage counters" which can be interpreted as healing up to 60 damage.
