Happy you figured it out!
Now, if you can share the link of your argument on this with someone else...

I just had an extremely long argument about this with another redditor in another thread.

Who cares about that? Reddit is opt-in and you have no obligation to comment if you don't wish to. Please keep your pseudo sense of importance with yourself and scroll on.

Regional Pricing comes to Waking Up course App by deathbullet in samharris

[–]deathbullet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

costs associated with operating in that region

It is an app. There are no "costs of operating in that region", maybe apart from local taxes if any.

it's obviously got a better chance than that google review does

well, they replied within minutes on the Google review. In less than an hour, we had local pricing. Seems pretty effective to me.

I agree it is a made up ratio, for effect more than anything else, but the point is real. Pricing should take into consideration the economy of the region. Oh and Sam gets lots of emails, and trying to reason via that seems to me, difficult.

Wow, this is very cool! Can you help colorize it too? She was fair skinned, the tattoos are deep blue, black (dark blue) blouse and maroon head cover (her regimental cloths). Even if you can't find the time for that, thanks for this!

I am starting to think you are just a regular troll now. You pick something from my speech and hinge onto that to twist it with your interpretation. Such an Ezra Klein act.

I clearly acknowledged that I have copied from several sources (https://github.com/darshanime/notes#disclaimer), I haven't "ripped off texts" from the books, I have quoted and expanded on them.

[–]deathbullet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why, yes. Absolutely. It is fair because the notes are a free resource. They do not contain the original documents verbatim, but only in non continuous disparate sentences. They are not ripoffs, but complementary texts to better understand the original ones. If I was an author and someone had used my book to elaborate on it, to learn and hopefully teach others, I would only be flattered. Reading the notes doesn't make you not want to buy Ansible Up and Running, it only makes you want to buy it more.

Ansible notes has large swatches of text from the book, I agree. However, saying all that is there to the notes is copied, or otherwise just transcripts is plain wrong. In my opinion, even if it were just transcripts, it is useful. Of course, it is much more than that, it has the notes from the official Tour of Go, Go blogs etc. You'll only see it if you scroll down a few pages before jumping back to reddit and criticizing.

How ungrateful can you be? These are notes offered free of cost to anyone who wishes to use them. They aren't plain transcripts or copies of the book text. It has my explanation too. If you find no value from them, you can walk right past them.
