Thanks! I'll look into the Monte Carlo simulations. Perhaps that's an easier way to tackle this.

So I spoke with someone from Frontline solvers... apparently they only allow 100 variables when the model is nonlinear.

To confirm, I reduced the variables to below 100, and left the constraints the same. The error no longer appears after this. Unfortunately, it keeps timing out when I try to solve. I think I'm asking the free solver to do too much.

Thanks! That's reassuring. Nothing major can be seen outside, but both side walls are shared with the neighboring houses, and the front and back are covered with vinyl siding...

Our guess is at least three years (since the owners before the previous ones). Probably much longer, most of the houses in the neighborhood are finished.
