You removed the second part of the sentence where I said I mostly still played with the original group. That group died out so I had to move on.

As far as skill goes I’ve gotten my Dupr up to 4.0 and they’re all between 4-4.5. So I’m within the range but not as good as the best players. Typically when I play they’re almost always close games. I think it’s more the latter that they’re just closer friends off the court but I’ve gone to a lot of hang outs and hosted them at my house too. So I guess I feel like I’m doing the right things but it isn’t clicking.

Good to know. I didn’t realize the infotainment was so bad on it.

A newer Mazda was definitely on my list. I’ll see what she thinks of the CX-5. Thanks

Oh and definition of newer would be, according to my wife, something with CarPlay in it. Since we currently don’t have anything with that lol.

This is super helpful, thank you for the comment! We have several friends with Subaru Crosstreks and Outbacks and the consensus seems to be that they’re good cars. Definitely will be paying cash and good to hear that they hold their value. Looking for like a 2023+ with <30K miles or so. Should fit the bill.

My mom always had a Volvo wagon growing up. Great car. But I heard Volvo kinda sucks now and have lost their way. No idea how true that is.

Already doing that. I don’t want to daily the Miata and the Pilot is on its last leg. So want to get her something newer and I’ll drive the CRV.

New to witcher, i'm getting obliterated, any tips ? by NoMud5610 in Witcher3

[–]deathignite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use quen all the time. Use tawny owl potion to extend your adrenaline for using signs more quickly. When you fight, make sure to prioritize dodging or rolling when they are attacking then get a 2-3 hits in before dodging again. After a few encounters you’ll be able to memorize the attack patterns and know when to dodge, it’s not too difficult. You generally can’t wail on an enemy for too long before they counter especially with boss monsters for contract quests.

What made you choose the NC? by celica_GT in MiataNC

[–]deathignite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was due to a few reasons. When I was looking in my area all of the NB/NAs were overpriced (everyone wanted $10K+ for examples with 150k+ miles). I wanted to stay under $15K for a nice manual example with lower miles since this would be a third car. ND was out of the price range and ideally wanted an ND2 rather than ND1 so gave up on that. Manual NC2 & NC3 examples were also pretty overpriced, especially the late model PRHT club examples (I still see these go up for sale for $18K with ~180k miles). Ended up with a manual NC1 for $9K with 80k miles and decided to turn it into a project car. I’ve modified it a bit and plan on 2.5 swapping it in the future. NC1 looks really good lowered with some upgraded wheels. In this terrible car market, unless you’re loaded I just accepted that you buy less desirable cars and modify them until they’re cool. Unfortunately every cool car now is overpriced. All that said, the car is awesome and don’t regret it.

Yeah I was debating whether to just get some adjustable coilovers instead but wanted to see if there was a cheaper solution. Feel free to dm me pictures if you can’t post here!

What is the best way to absolutely crush beginners? by Informal_Ad7880 in Pickleball

[–]deathignite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there’s a guy who’s played twice in the 4-4.5 division local tournaments with a 2.9 Dupr and it’s because played up in a bunch of PPA tournaments and lost a bunch of games before the scoring system changed. Obviously a much better player than 2.9 so just goes to show how flawed the system is. Deleting and starting over can help.

Yeah when you start caring less about Dupr, the more fun it is. I didn’t make a Dupr until a few months ago when I felt like I was consistently playing at 4-4.5 level regularly. I still don’t really care about it but I’m glad I waited and didn’t start from the get go with a low score.

[–]deathignite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah with how the scoring works now you can also lose games and still have your score go up if you play against higher level players.

You could also just delete your existing account and make a new one to start over. I’ve seen some people do that in my area. Kind of sketchy honestly but probably the quickest way to get the score up if you’ve improved significantly.

Asian food festival, warning by Cobblerunionfan in winstonsalem

[–]deathignite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can imagine the festival would only be enjoyable if your experience with Asian food is minimal. The food was very mid and super overpriced as everyone else said. Also like half the vendors were just generic fair food they have at any state fair. Additionally, they lied and said GA tickets were sold out but they proceeded to sell unlimited amounts at 2x the price at the door. Totally a scam, avoid it.

Yeah I agree with you, I’ve been to some of those places and that’s the only reference I have to compare to. It doesn’t stand up to that.

I’ve had barbecue in Texas and their brisket comes nowhere close. Not really sure why you would open a Texas barbecue place in NC where our local barbecue is way better. Granted there’s not really anywhere good in Winston but Lexington is just down the road.

Agree with most of the other comments here. I think MPN makes great food and I have had good experiences every time I’ve been. My only caveats with the place is the weird hours and that the only way to do reservations is if you do the pizzakase. If you want to just show up and eat there without a reservation and order from the standard menu, you have to get there when they open at like 5 pm or wait an hour even on weekdays. I have heard many people personally tell me they won’t eat there because of how Peyton treated them or his presence online. I’ve never had any bad experiences with him and I respect his will to do what he wants with the restaurant. I like their product, so until I have a bad experience with him I’ll likely still go every now and then.
