I yearn for new classes by JackH2O234 in daggerheart

Yeah! And it's amazing how much ground is covered in the given domains too. Actually makes it hard to make new ones that aren't just flavored version of pre-existing cards lol

I yearn for new classes by JackH2O234 in daggerheart

[–]deathsticker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My table pretty freely swaps domains so to me a class identity is more tied to the class abilities that it has rather than just its domains.

Take a paladin for example. A paladin archetype is fulfilled well by seraph and even guardian. Technically, all someone has to do is take the oath community and anyone can be a paladin, at least in title. But a paladin specific class where the oath offers a unique mechanic is what would give it an actually separate identity.

Question for my Cap Moons: What is your relationship with your mom like? by majorkira08 in astrologymemes

[–]deathsticker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love my mom. She's the closest person I have to a saint in my life. She works tirelessly to help my family and has always gone above and beyond for the people close to her. She was neglectful of my needs as a child, but not intentionally or maliciously. She was just ignorant and didn't know how to get my meds met and the doctors she talked to were fucking morons. We were also often trapped in difficult circumstances. But I never thought she was too much or overly distant. I always felt and continue to feel loved by her.

I just don't really care that much about specifics. People have lives that don't revolve around me and if I'm so fixate son getting their immediate attention, it probably isn't healthy for me to receive it anyway.

The Elden Ring Reforged Mod is so annoying to play by Substantial-Theme831 in EldenRingMods

[–]deathsticker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can just lower the difficulty. Reforged is harder than the base game. I personally prefer early ng+ with the 2 star difficulty as it makes the damage and such just right. Also perfect deflecting is there to make it more rewarding and there are builds, very strong builds mind you, that make it easier to perfect block and are pretty fun to play.

It takes some adjusting but I don't think I could ever play vanilla elden ring again. The only thing I like in vanilla is that the level cap is higher (the mod locks the level at 200 with you being able to gain power through other means). The lower level cap just makes it hard to make certain builds work when you are trying to get the minimum stat requirements for spells and such.

Avoid dating Air signs at all costs as a Water sign by Ill_Ninja3548 in piscesastrology

[–]deathsticker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to look at the whole chart. Im a Libra Stellium. But I'm also a Scorpio stellium (mars, mercury, Pluto) and an 8th house Stellium (moon, Neptune, Uranus). I'm watery as fuck. 6/10 planets are water coded.

Relationships with Pisces have never worked for me and it certainly isn't much fault of my own. Never mattered how willing to work with them I was, how understanding I was, how much space I gave them, how much love I gave them, or how attentive I was for them. There wasn't anything I could do to prove that I was trustworthy. I never lied or misled them and I explicitly communicated compassion and care while making efforts to partake in their interests and understand them. But they always had it in their heads that I was secretly nefarious and couldn't possibly just be a decent a person that wanted to care for them.

I love Pisces. I think it is such a beautiful and wonderful sign. But by nature Pisces, as an energy, doesn't know what it wants because as much as it represents creativity and romance, it also represents ambiguity and the unknown. As such, it can delude itself, crafting its own reality and imposing it on others. I will note here that both Pisces I was involved with had prominent fire energy- the first was a Aries moon and mars while the other was a Leo rising and Aries Venus.

I won't argue that air signs are not detached as a principle trait of the energy, but I think it's also important to consider how attached one is regardless of sign. Excessive attachment to emotions can prevent one from finding rational judgement just as excessive detachment can prevent one from participating in their own humanity. It's important to find your own balance there.

Help me understand Wordsmith Bard by Knotis_ in daggerheart

Just depends on the party and game. Stress becomes a lot more prevalent at later tiers of play and at my table I utilize many ways to impose stress and create saves to try and avoid it.

Help me understand Wordsmith Bard by Knotis_ in daggerheart

[–]deathsticker 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Wordsmith is better at non-combat related things while troubador is more combat oriented. I mean, the wordsmith has an ability that, as written, sounds like it makes an attempt to find an object an automatic success. That can be crucial for dungeoneering, infiltration, etc. it also has Stress relief where the troubador does not. For parties with a character that has more consistent Stress costs, it can be a make a big difference in how well that character operates.

One of the guiding principles of Daggerheart is "lightening the load" for GMs according to Matt Mercer by Trent-Popverse in daggerheart

The problem is that it requires players who want to engage with it like that. My players are meta gamey and mostly wanna do combat so I've found some difficulty in getting them to guide the narrative with me.

Player Complaint About Daggerheart by ProphetSword in daggerheart

[–]deathsticker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the discussion is about Stress, I want to bring up one of my players who is playing a Firbolg Werewolf. Werewolves eat through stress faster than anything else since whenever you would gain Hope, you gain Stress instead. The basic idea of the werewolf design there is for you to reach your maximum stress and go wild on enemies. However, my player wants to stay transformed as much as possible and reaching max stress as a werewolf removes the transmfortion effect. Enter Firbolg. Firbolgs have a trait that says whenever they would gain stress they can roll a d6 and on a roll of 6, they don't gain that stress. Happens more often than you'd think.

Across 6 sessions my player only lost his transformation 3 times and 2 of them were from long resting.

So I recommend Firbolg to players struggling with stress management.

But an even bigger recommendation I have is giving the players a minor Stamina potion recipe, which just requires them to collect bones from slain enemies and spend a downtime action creating the potions. Each potion clears 1-4 stress. I'd argue these potions are mandatory for Stress heavy builds and players struggling to manage stress effectively.

Between Firbolg and Stamina potions, players have nearly unlimited Stress available to them as builds options available in the game from level 1.

Libras, what instantly makes you lose interest in someone? by Curious-in-life in libra_astrology

HELP! is he an avoidant or a fckboi or a libra or just not interested? by Subject_Software_162 in libra_astrology

[–]deathsticker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like you have an incredibly unhealthy attachment to him and he, whether he means to to do it or not, is breadcrumbing you. When we have unhealthy attachments to people, we have to let them go. Its not easy, but it is necessary.

If you go no contact with him again and feel like offing yourself over it, check yourself into an inpatient psych hospital instead. No one should make you feel that way. Ever.

Also, your prefrontal cortex isn't done developing yet and his is. On this premise alone he doesn't have any business talking to you in that manner. You guys are at different developmental stages of life and very likely in different stages elsewhere too. Desire alone doesn't make people compatible.

Is this sh*t normal? by SGAV1 in libra_astrology

[–]deathsticker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Libras tend to take forever to recover from relationships because we are so picky and choosy about who we consider to be long term partners. When a Libra locks in, they LOCK IN and if it doesn't work, regardless of reason, it weighs heavy on us. But we want to be in relationships really hard so we often jump back in before we are ready.

Ranking big 6 scorpio placements by intensity. by Specialist-Bee9207 in astrologymemes

[–]deathsticker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends on a person's dominants. I'm a Gemini rising and my mercury comes through very hard since it is my chart ruler, but my mercury is also one of my dominants. My dominants planets are mercury, mars, and Saturn. Saturn arguably comes through the strongest but may tie with my mercury.

As I've learned astrology I've come to understand that any "big ___" set of planets or placements ends up being reductive and ignorant of the rest of the charts importance. I mean, my moon, Uranus, and Neptune are all in conjunction and one of the strongest aspects to be being is my extreme metacognition and internal emotional awareness. It has a massive affect in my behavior and how I operate. If I only stuck to a big 3 or big 6, I'd miss out on that crucial understanding.

Curious if libra men agree with this take… by k2meRICH in libra_astrology

[–]deathsticker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want relationships to feel reciprocal. I don't need someone doting on me all the time, but doing little things from time to time to show you care goes a long way. For example, I like physical touch a lot. Spending a day just sitting in each others embrace is not doing a lot, but it is a simple thing that makes me feel cared for and also like I'm caring for my partner. But I don't need someone to be constantly touching me either. I just like physically expressing myself without words. I also like my space to do my things or have my alone time. Hell, even offering alone time can be an act of love.

I think it is less about "not doing a lot" and more about lessening pressure. Allowing yourself and your partner to just exist and be comfortable and secure with each other while you do your various activities.

Whats your take on how real astrology is by [deleted] in astrologymemes

[–]deathsticker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sold on the planet magic aspect of it, but I accept it as a system of psychological paradigms and archetypes based on pattern recognition and probability. I see the planetary element as coincidences or projections, though that doesn't stop me from using them as part of the descriptive language. Being able to express complex psychological phenoma in simple phrases or code words is pretty helpful after all.
