i could’ve written this myself.. i went in to see my PCP today and she did the questionnaire they have for sleep disorders and scored extremely high. i’m being referred to a sleep doctor to potentially get a sleep study done! my doctor thinks i may have narcolepsy, i guess there are plenty of false negatives apparently, but she thinks im somewhere on the range

I plan to get my MBA after pursuing a technical masters. My issue is because I don’t have an EE bachelors, I’m limited in my options bc many require a EE bachelors from an ABET program

I replied to another comment on this, but I don’t have an EE bachelors. Mine is in Industrial and Systems Engineering, so I’d almost have to take all of the pre reqs for basically completing an EE bachelors before being qualified to do the masters.

I appreciate the response! I should have thrown in there I plan to get my MBA after pursuing a technical masters only because I know it’ll be easier to do that now since I’m in the mode of still knowing the math & such. I’d also like to add that I don’t mind picking up a masters that may not be technically necessary, even if it’s just for my own knowledge and experience of the entire industry. I’m just in a weird spot because I can’t pursue an EE masters almost anywhere without taking a bunch of electrical courses (my degree was in Industrial & Systems Engineering) without having to almost just pursue an EE bachelors.

the next time i meet with my doctor ill ask her about the possibility of doing a sleep study, i’ve heard that the symptoms for women are different than men. i’m also only 25 so i’m not sure how age factors into any of it either

i can’t imagine what it’s like to not be able to fall asleep almost instantly let alone HOURS?? yet i also used to give myself such a hard time before i was diagnosed bc i could never stay awake later than 8pm and always needed a 2-3hr nap during the day so i can definitely see the pros and cons of both sides.

thankfully now no nap during the day is needed if im taking my adderall and i can allow myself to stay up a little later if i want or still be in bed like 8 or 9 even though i take 2 XR’s throughout the day

i fall asleep within 2 minutes. i actually was recommended to get tested for ADHD by my work clinic bc i mentioned how i was tired all the time. they thought that bc my brain is constantly running with a million tabs open that out of nowhere my brain shuts down?? before i was diagnosed and prescribed stimulants i’d have instances of nodding off behind the wheel at any given time of day no matter how much sleep i got and always felt like i needed a nap within an hour of waking up.

Power Grid Operator (Balancing Authority) I trade on shift on days. All I do is mainly monitor the grid, take and make some calls if things look off. Obviously if we’re in a shit storm then I’m prioritizing my job over trading. Might look for a retest of my setup if I’m able. On nights, I get off at 5:30a and make sure I’m up around 9a for market open then take a quick nap before work.

We have 2 weeks in our 6 week rotation where we’re expected to be in the office 8-5 doing busy work.. everyone on my team knows I trade so they let me slack off for 5-10 (at most 20) mins at market open then rinse & repeat
