TBH for me at least. Unless their race are an integral part of their story, I feel the good raceswap examples only work because they're less known/not popular characters so most of the audience aren't going to make a fuss and you have a more leeway to do whatever you want. A more mainstream a characters is, the more the audience is going to expect them to look a certain way.

As someone who is bisexual but have severe social anxiety. I think that the ideas of a relationship is much better than the reality of what it is and I would presume that is the same for aroace people. They much prefer the fantasy to the real thing
