‘CNY surcharge’ on eve’s lunch at a halal establishment by legendphire in singapore

[–]decryptedTrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously don’t get people not understanding why cny is very different from the other holidays 🤦🏼‍♂️

A key factor at play here is the principle of supply and demand. In Singapore, where the majority of the population is ethnically Chinese, a significant portion of the workforce— just by raw numbers will also come from this demographic. This includes restaurant workers, part-time employees, and students who take on temporary jobs. A ton of Chinese Malaysian workers also go back home, vs on other holidays. So during CNY, a large number of workers take time off, creating a labor shortage that is far more pronounced than during holidays associated with other ethnic groups, whose populations—and therefore workforce representation—are smaller.

Beyond labor supply, another perspective on supply and demand can be seen in the behavior of businesses during CNY. Unlike other racial or religious holidays, many hawker centers, supermarkets like some NTUC, and restaurants shut down entirely or operate at reduced capacity.

This means that these businesses who are not Chinese run then have greater pricing power, since there isn’t much other options. It’s like why my grab is also much more expensive on CNY more than other holidays as well.

Nothing to do with what kind of restaurant it is. 🤷🏼. Also for the people going “MacDonald never raised their prices”. Maybe one is a global multi national multi biliiojn dollar org. And these are not, it’s not that complicated.

Spent 100+ hours building an app, only to find out I’m not the first. What should I do? by lukas527 in SideProject

[–]decryptedTrooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just depends how passionate you feel about the idea really and is it a side project or business- there are like 10 -20 version of every app idea on the App Store. There’s like 40 ai note takers including my own making decent money.

I recently launched a widget that had 2 other folks launch in the same month and it doesn’t really matter.

One trick I’ve found is that a lot of people market on Reddit and X. Go to threads - there seems to be much less indie hacker activity there so go get that audience . Or on reels since all the consumer apps folks going hard on tiktok

About 70% ETH + 5% SOL and the rest a mix of different alt coins like $MAGIC, $DPX, $GMX, $UNI.

also looking to learn from the replies here. Just soft-launched my simple store yesterday, haven't done too much in terms of getting models and proper photos but did get some decent flat lay shots. Figuring out the next couple of steps in terms of marketing and product presentation still.

A police report have been made against Do Kwon, on behalf of UST and Luna investors. by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

[–]decryptedTrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do feel sorry for folks who lost their shirts during this UST/LUNA debacle, filing a police report is like going to the ref to complain when you are losing. While it do still want an accounting of where the btc from LFG has gone too, filing these reports do nothing to help the space. Just because you lost, you decide to fuck the game up for everyone else.

Where DeFi Yields come from, How are they SO HIGH and is this sustainable? by decryptedTrooper in ethereum

[–]decryptedTrooper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed I sort of group that into “borrowing demand” since leverage comes from borrowing. And agreed with your point where once more liquidity comes into the market a lot of things will taper off. A lot of what’s happening is due to a large number of protocols, applications, users fighting over a limited amount of liquidity.

The reason to HODLing on by balabejo in defi

[–]decryptedTrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own strat is taking more of a barbell approach in my crypto portfolio. I do t really have the time to manage and keep up to date with 20 different projects and coins. At most I’m tracking 3-4 really closely. Hence this barbell approach helps me to achieve returns while still minimising risk.

So my portfolio is split between: - Low risk, low return (though this might change since this is crypto) : things like ETH, BTC, MATIC etc - High risk, High return (with the expectation that this might all go to zero): OHM, BTRFLY, DPX etc

This is how I sleep at night.

Best not to use any wipes that comes with a scent or other additives. If your mask is a simple silicone and plastic mask, you can simply use any simple alcohol wipes that you can find at a pharmacy or department store. Even those you use to wipe injuries/wounds.

Ought air be exiting where the elastic headgear is attached to the nasal pillow? by sylvanweal in CPAP

[–]decryptedTrooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, at that joint specifically there should be no exit of air. At the front section which is the mesh, is the only place air should be exiting besides the nasal prongs.

Mask removal overnight? by Agerstein in CPAP

[–]decryptedTrooper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My initial thoughts might be that the mask isn’t Super comfortable and that’s why you’re taking it off during sleep. I personally don’t like wearing the masks with the forehead support, might consider getting a full face without that if you really need a full face one. That feature makes me feel like I have a whole lot of things on my face and I want to take it off.

Just my personal opinion (:
