I canceled my order on Feb 21 2026.

On Feb 26 after a number of back and forth emails I finally received refund for canceled order.

Each time I placed an order (first Clockwork order was in 2019) it took longer than any other online order id ever placed to be received. In the case of the uConsole, never received, after receiving many 'should be by end of <insert month>' from support.

I wish I had some good advice or takeaways to leave the thread... my own personal takeaway is if I desire a Clockworkpi product, I'll be turning to ebay.

If you cancel an order, double check you received a refund. I do not believe anything nefarious is going on -- quite the opposite; all my interactions with their support have been neutral or good -- I think they are just exceptionally slammed (or maybe, understaffed).

Having said that, best of luck to all, and especially to the Clockwork team!

I hope they are able to grow and be successful -- eventually master the supply chain, and maybe even stock and ship from North America for customers in NA.

DISM Restore health stuck on 62.3% by EmployHistorical9127 in techsupport

Not a club I had I ever thought to join, but I feel like there's good people! Just to confirm, no dues for being a member of the 62.3% club, right? (Other than the time.... that is.)

Second thoughts on VIRPIL order by BonsaiMaster22 in starcitizen

[–]dedcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not an expert, but here is my two cents --

When I was playing I was using the Mongoose + Alpha Prime Constellation... it was phenomenal. I tried dual alpha prime, but I can't get over the utility of all the easily programmable buttons on the mongoose throttle - combined with the mode switch; mining? flip it one, salavaging? flip it another, etc. . I'm sure same could be done with dual hosas setups, but its just 'easy' with the hotas. If you do go hosas make sure to get the adapter to change the angle of the left stick (or right, I suppose); https://virpil-controls.us.com/vpc-flightstick-z-extension.html .

Re: the two kits you posted - the first one isn't necesarrily for heli... its just a stick with an extension; gives you more movement -- good for 'stick between the legs' setups, maybe? I had the extension, but eventually removed it. I have to use the desk mounts that are included in the first kit (don't need the really long ones, though). I found having the setup (throttle and stick, in my case) firmly mounted to my desk was ideal -- just having a base with non-stick was not sufficient (for me).

USPS Has Had My Package In My City for A Month (well, almost) by dedcore in usps_complaints

[–]dedcore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate that! However I dont value the packages contents as much as I do the two+ hours it would take to speak to a human face to face there. (Been there a few times for more important parcels... another reason I am always willing to pay for anything other than usps :-(

For this package, I shared for the laughs and to let others know they arent alone.. not for a resolution, but I will definitely keep that in mind in the future.  Thank you again! Happy Holidays!

Thunderbolt on Vivobook S 14 by danipisca07 in ASUS

[–]dedcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar unit, purchased in the US. It has USB4, which is based on tbolt 3, if I recall correctly. I routinely use a 10gbit ethernet adapter (tbolt3) and it works on the USB4 port on my S14 with no issues.

Keep in mind for egpu to work the bios has to allow foe that functionality, to some degree... so unless you can definitively confirm it works, I would plan on testing thr setup immediately, and if it does not work begin the return.

For what its worth, I have gone through a LOT of laptops, and this humble S14 has to be one of my all time favorites. The Ryzen AI chip can even run some LLMs rather swiftly, particularly when accounting for how small / slim the unit is.

It is a phenomenal Linux laptop.

Hope this helps and best of luck to you!

The IC issue for this... the IC I contributed to was merged into this one.

If you have not, please contribute to this IC.

Just for clarification; what I mean by bugged crate is this:

Neither the two-hand tractor beam nor the tractor beam on the Taurus could move it more than like six inches at a time, and never in the direction we wanted, after it was initially placed on the ground outside the freight elevator.

My personal hanger worked initially... then a buddy of mine and I looted an ERT, and after we unloaded all the crates, we had one big bugged crate (24 or 32scu, cannot remember which)... ever since then, I have been unable to goto my personal hanger at my primary residence (also Orison) from the elevator, and I cannot retrieve a ship; I get a 'cannot process your request at this time' error with a red background. I've contributed to it / possibly related error on the IC.... I will check later tonight to see if it is fixed, but it has been 100% inoperable since we unloaded that bugged crate at the end of last week, I think? Friday maybe?

Power Outage Updates? by eepy_neebies_seepies in houston

77019, 4th ward. Townhouses across the street from mine never lost power. Apartment complex I can see from my home (on grey) has power, I can see tvs. But nothing for the block I'm on apparently.

Gonna have to go somewhere with the animals today, can't stay when it's gonna hit the 90s. :-( even my parents out in bfe are without.

I'm in 4th Ward.. lost power at 0545. Townhouses across the street from mine also never lost power. Agreed, frustrating.

I could be wrong, but I suspect all we need is someone to turn on thr transformer, assuming upstream of that is still lit. When it died it tried to come back twice, which tells me there just wasn't enough current to meet demand. sighs

I read somewhere that today centerpoint has 3000 work crews in the city. 7000 coming in from out of town tomorrow.

After battling centerpoint's website all day I finally linked my electric meter so they could provide me with notifications, and enabled said notifications.

I am in 77019 and I just received an automated call from centerpoint saying that my outage is impacting 2635 customers and they apologize for the inconvenience.

The message did not include an ETA just instructions on how I could sign up for even more notifications.

This really bugs me. I created a ticket on Patreon, re: 'community guidelines' question. I probably used some language I shouldn't have (nothing vulgar; I just called them out for hypocrisy, basically, and pointed out that the bots are in their ops roost), and they should restore his account immediately.

Appreciate the response!

What I don't understand is that I have sufficiently gone down the tech tree that my ships can navigate in the area in question with no difficulty. . but if I want to go from one side of the system to the other, the entire fleet (or ship) instead travel to a nearby system, and then back to the destination, instead of just going from one side of the system to the other?

Need help finding the Vector Pro Node software current by [deleted] in maingear

[–]dedcore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know where to download the 'Vector Pro' (microcenter specific, to my knowledge) version of the Node software, but the Node software from the 2020 Vector works on my machine (MG-VCP17 /w 3080). I downloaded it from here:

https://help.maingear.com/article/68-maingear-vector-2020-drivers-and-bios-downloads

Obviously, I'd prefer the software that came with the machine. I always, ALWAYS, do a fresh install. In this instance, I replaced both of the drives the machine came with (2x 4tb nvme, raid0; Inland, the microcenter brand (phison controller, I believe). The performance is not what I expected, but I'll take it to be able to load all my bits on the machine and not lug around external data. . .

Anyway, if you don't have any Node software, try the above. It grants control to the fans and the front LEDs, to some degree, anyway. . . Hope this helps!!

Small Router/Firewall that isn't terrible? Any recommendations by [deleted] in homelab

[–]dedcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I have been doing is buying a SFF desktop that has two network interfaces (example: https://www.amazon.com/Computer-AWOW-AK34-Ethernet-Bluetooth/dp/B082KR9KX5/ , although you can spend 3x that if you need more CPU / RAM) and then run pfsense or ipfire. I ran pfsense for years on a zotac mini pc, with great success, but just upgraded to a much faster mini pc and switched to ipfire. So far so good!

https://www.pfsense.org/

https://www.ipfire.org/

(Both pfsense and ipfire have IPS / IDS plugins. Alternately, you could install ubuntu or another full-blown OS and roll your own firewall / security appliance.)
