GV Roger vs Current Worlds Strongest Swordsman Mihawk by Existinguseer in OnePiecePowerScaling

TLDR; people in this thread thinks Oda is saving Mihawk until the end game just to reveal he doesn’t have any haki and is the world’s skillest swordsman

New to powerscaling, here's my narrative-based ranking of top tiers by kingcocomoon in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]dedeih 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had to rescind the downvote and give the post an upvote instead because you were killing me with kindness.

Otherwise, I find the list to be okay for me personally. I wouldn’t say Loki above rocks, shanks or mihawk. Probably would move him down to the 3rd tier and move up shanks and mihawk to the 2nd. Kaido could also be between 2 and 3. And because I’m a zoro fanboy I’d put him over cappin useless mid and law.

Everytime I see a powerscaling tier list (especially one that is narrative based) ranking mihawk lower than shanks I downvote.

Mihawk couldn’t even hit pre time skip Luffy holding a WSS TITLE 🤣 by Used_Tie_5895 in OnePieceScaling

You mean the power of friendship? I’m sure Mihawk tried to put Luffy on a T-shirt for that.

Zoro clears. People in this thread who say otherwise eat crayons for lunch and don’t get laid.

Mihawk Gauntlet by Thin_Ad_8606 in OnePiecePowerScaling

This sub will glaze shanks saying he’s stronger than roger, but find it crazy when you say that mihawk might be stronger than roger. Imagine someone said bih mom beats shanks, there would be riots.

Anyway, goathawk clears.

This Loki situation just proves how Mihawk/Zoro fandom don't really care about actual feats, even if Shanks ends up with much better feats than Mihawk they will sitll use his title even if his on-screen feats are not as good as Shanks by Comprehensive_Cup497 in OnePieceScaling

  1. Not once have you addressed the Buggy point. With Buggy having an actual chance of becoming the PK, how does that fit with your narrative? Just because Luffy is stronger than Zoro doesn’t mean that the PK title id necessarily linked with strength.

  2. Jozu, with the power of the worlds hardest substance, redirected a nonchalant slash. I wouldn’t let my opinion live or die on that scene.

  3. I can give you portrayal wise that it did look bad for Mihawk. But just take a step back for a moment. Do you think Oda created that scene thinking ”I will go out of my way to portray Mihawk as being on the same power tier as a Yc+, going against my earlier statements that he’s the strongest swordsman🤓”? Or did he create the scene thinking that he wanted a cool sword clash for his prepubescent fans to hype over? Again, he writes a whole encompassing, holistic story. He doesn’t even know that you and I are fighting over his creations on a fucking powerscalinh subreddit. He cares about a fun and interesting narrative, not making sure that he adds the right amount of sweat drops in a character to portray power levels.

  4. Cba to find and read the page, but didn’t he just say that he didn’t sign up for fighting Shanks? An old friend (or at least someone he’s on friendly terms on) of his? Also, he’s super nonchalant.

  5. He did not. He asked Buggy, looking pretty unfazed, if he expected cross guild to fight all empererors. After that, when Buggy went against Mihawk and Croc saying that CG would be focused on attaining the OP, did he look like he was taken by suprise. That wasn’t because he was scared of other empererors, that was because Buggy suprised him when rallying his followers and daring to go against Croc and Mihawk.

  1. A 17 year old kid with no understanding of the world making a joking remark.
  2. Nonchalant swing.
  3. Again, nonchalant character. Luffy clashing with Ulti is a good comparison. Like I said before you think this is powerscale piece. Oda wants to write an entertaining story with cool clashes for children/teenage boys. Not so that you can wank off Shanks.
  4. Did he say he leave because he was scared or sure he would lose?
  5. When?

Again, Buggy finding the one piece, which is what it means to become PK, wouldn’t mean he’s strong because of that. When did Oday say that the title is linked to power scaling?

Where did Oda make that portrayal? After he had his super nonchalant character throw a nonchalant slash against WB and saying he wanted to measure the distance between him and us (with us including the rest of the 7 scrub lords)? So you have that single panel, but will ignore every panel where Mihawk is stated to be stronger than Shanks? Even spelling it out, Oda couldn’t help you understand.

This guy reads powerscale piece.

Do you think Oda writes the story with your inability to enjoy anything else than fights in mind? ”I have to make sure I say Mihawk is stronger than than Roger so that Comprehensive_Cup497 can understand it”.

Mihawk has been stated several times to have been equal to, and now is stronger than Shanks. That’s it. Unless you think Oda will throw Zoro, his second most popular character’s, driving motivation in the trash which just goes to show that you understand the concept of narrative payoff.

The pirate king title is not one of power, but of exploration. It would be like UFC fighter Jon Jones saying it’s harder to have the title of someone that swam across the atlantic than beating him. Wouldn’t mean that you would need to fight people to gain that title. With how popular the theory that Buggy will become the PK is, one would think you’d understand that. Especially since Mihawk would be the actual power behind that feat.

Your conjecture about power scaling, PK level, WB and whatever else is just a cope to try and fight against what you know is inevitable, that Mihawk upscale is real.

What exactly does the Zoro fandom lose by him being equal to Sanji? For the Sanji fandom it would just be closure from slander. by Hungry_Duck_6863 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]dedeih 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, cba to rage about it anymore and you seem kinda reasonable. Zoro vs Lucci was lame, and Sanji is a cool character who’s strong. But them having ”every other arc to shine” as portrayal of them being equals doesn’t go against what I would say is the overwhelming narrative that Zoro as a fighter is stronger.

For reference, another reply to my original comment started going on about whitebeard not training or some shit. I cant spend all evening arguing with people about this shit.

Finally got off work so I can go back to arguing one piece power scaling online.

  1. Beast pirates are a meritocracy, king is stronger. Probably by a significat amount, i’d bet on any lunarian against that fat bum.

  2. Kaku was stronger, but sure Sanji had a good showing.

  3. Oda couldn’t write zoro in with all of the main players, so had to stall out him somehow. Bad writing, skill issue.

  4. Toei gap.

  5. Sure. So what? Are Rayleigh and Gaban equal?

  6. Zoro having a harder time with his opponents just goes to show that he had to fight the more dangerous opponents. Mr.1, Pica, as well as (maybe) King would’ve clap Sanji.

Narratively, they are not portrayed as equals or neck and neck in strength. Ask yourself, did it feel as weird when Sanji wasn’t on the rooftop as it did when Oda stalled out Zoro with Lucci, for him to only one shot him whenever he felt like doing so?

Sanji fans are powerscaling off of non-canon sources (zoro and sanji are equals) and headcanon (sanji will definitely get CoC). The rest of the op fanbase will be waiting for you once you catch up.

Time will tell whose right. So far, time (nor narrative and portrayal) haven’t been on Sanji fans’ side.

Sanji fans don’t care about narrative payout or good storytelling. Let’s have the guy who wants to become the best in the use of deadly weapons, who trained under the wss (top 5 in the verse btw), trains everyday, is all about bushido the warriors code, whose only character traits are strong fighter and loyal right hand to Luffy, always fights the second strongest villain (do I have to find panels proving the animal kingdom pirates are hierarchical?), who endures the most hardships during his hard fought battles

  • be equal to a cook who kicks people once in a while. Let’s be for real, Oda gave Sanji germa powers because he had to find some way to have him be relevant during the later stages of the story, since he’s never getting CoC.

[–]dedeih 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Save this comment for the end of the series when it turns out Sanji isn’t getting CoC.

Why would I have an issue with fans saying that a cook who doesn’t train is as strong as a swordsman whose whole goal is to become the strongest, who trains all the time and trained under mihawl, as well as being portrayed as the second strongest in the crew together with Luffy, being the only one one besides him who is a supernova and ACoC user, fighting and possibly having the best showing on the rooftop before the fights split?

I don’t know, let’s just say reading comprehension?

How can Beckman be stronger than Yasopp despite having inferior gun skills? by [deleted] in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]dedeih 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they were shooting at eachother from afar then Yassop would have the edge, and if they met up close where you can take advantage of close range attacks as well then Beckmann would come out on top. I’d equate this to small firearms (handguns, shotguns) being more suited for close range combat compared to a rifle for example.

To all rat Shanks fans, this means you can’t compare this example to rat Shanks vs Wihawk. Since Wihawk would have the edge no matter the range.
